You may be right, but relocating the Star Wars meet and greats seems like a relatively easy opportunity to disperse crowds and lower lines for other attractions in a park that has a number of attractions with long lines. The Darth Vader meet and great was especially popular.
My guess is that even if they plan to set them up somewhere else in the park, (near Star Tours would make the most sense to me) I doubt they will have it up and running in time for our trip if they havenât made an announcement at this point. ![]()
Bummer since my DD5 is just on the edge of believing the characters are the real deal and only got into Star Wars this year so we didnât have them on our list last visit.
Last trip DD (then age 9) announced to DS (then age 6) that there was no point in meeting characters because they were just random strangers wearing costumes. (Thanks for ruining the magic for your brother!)
Phew! That is the best one! Now find a spot for BB8!
I donât know why my post is now showing up as deleted. I did NOT, in fact, delete it. Here is what my post above had said:
IF they do it (big if), I would presume the only reasonable location is the area next to Star Tours where they used to do the Jedi lightsaber training. I canât think of any place else they would do it.
But it is possible that they will transition SW character meet and greets to special events only? Who knows. I guess weâll find out!!!
I think he could easily fit in GE, he is in the right timeline!
I just saw online that Darth Vader is outside at Star Tours. That has to be quite the change in working conditions from meeting inside previously! Seriously, I wonder if the union would negotiate that.
I was thinking the same thing! My guess is itâs a shorter on stage time.
Here is at least one M&G that lives on!
@edonnes Looks like Obi-Wan got your message! I hope there werenât any Bothans that died in the process.
Bothans
I swear to god all I wanted during Andor was for Mon Mothma to have a Bothan friend!
No more exclusive Vader for Disney Visa holders. A Vader magic shot and exclusive Olaf isnât quite the same.
Chewy and Vi were meeting by the Falcon last week
Does this mean you canât meet Olaf anymore of you donât have a Visa card?
If it is like the Vader meet and greet, theyâll have a separate experience in an adjacent area.
Edit for clarification: There would be two meet and greets for Olaf, but one would only be for card holders.
It would appear that my assumption was wrong and Olaf actually is a Disney Visa Cardholder exclusive now. Iâm actually sad about this because I would think it would be a good character for all kids.
That is sad. It was a fun meet and greet with not long of a line.
Disney Visa Cardholder exclusive
Fortunately there is a free version of this card (no annual fee), so anyone could still see Olaf if you get a Disney Card ahead of their trip.
