Walking from Car Care

Hello everyone,

We will be arriving at Disney World with our rental car on March 19 and will be heading to the Kennedy Space Center on March 20.

Currently, my plan is to return the car at the Disney World Car Care Center after 7 PM in the evening. I know that there won’t be any shuttle service then, as Alamo will be closed.

Are Uber or Lyft our only options?

Or is there a way to walk to the TTC? Google doesn’t show a route, but Google doesn’t know everything either

Thanks for your tips!

I don’t think there’s anything like a walking path over there, but I suppose if you were carrying a golf club you could run across that course and make it appear like you were looking for your ball! :in_hole:

Disney does a poor job of making walking paths in areas that should, but this area is like the intersection of 3 highways. You definitely do not want to be walking anywhere near here. I think a Rideshare would be the best option but there is also some car rental services at the Swan/Dolphin that you could look into.

Thank you! We looked into Alamo at Swan/Dolphin, but their opening times are worse and they don’t offer after hour returns.

Oh that stinks. Uber/lyft should be pretty straightforward at least and you could always have them just take you to the TTC if you wanted to save money. Maybe drop the fam off at the hotel first?

This seems to suggest that you could get a shuttle until 7pm? Even though it closes at 6pm. I wonder what they would say if you call?

Definitely call @MickeyMouse1205 to ask about your options

Any time I’ve been in the car care center they’ve been friendly

I thought there was a (free?) shuttle you could use from the Car Care center to resorts on property. I have never done it myself, but I seem to remember reading this somewhere.

I think that he knows that there is a shuttle but it’s not 24 hours and he’s dropping off after hours.

I think dropping off your party at the hotel and dropping off the car by yourself and grabbing a Lyft / Uber is the best option. You can get the cheapest ride share option that way and people won’t be so grumbly about waiting around. :winking_face_with_tongue:

ETA: It should be only like $8-15 plus tip.

Oh. I misunderstood. Got it. Carry on.

I have no first hand knowledge about the place but the Disney website talks about this shuttle service in a separate section from the rental car shuttles
