Viewing starlight parade from firework dessert party area

Going in August with 4 kids ranging from 18 months to 8 yrs old. We are doing the pre-fireworks dessert party one night. Has anyone viewed the parade from that area? Not sure if we should hurry through the desserts to get down to the viewing area for the 9pm parade or just watch from the terrace and then try street level another night.

Thoughts?

Which party are you considering … terrace seating or garden plaza seating?

The pre-party with garden plaza seating

This blog post does not appear to address the dessert party question, but you might be able to infer based on the map and other information:

From that map, you’d have to be crammed along the smallest edge of the garden seating area - like, pretty much skipping the treats and just going to the area. Up to you if you want to spend the money just to stand along a fence rather than having the food.

DH amd I were talking about this. If you think you could make it for the 11:00 parade, then I think you could do the desert party, go watch the fireworks then grab a good parade spot. To me the trickiest part now is getting a good fireworks spot without having to stake out a place way before the parade.

I wonder if doing the option that has the desserts AFTER the fireworks would work. I’m not sure what time they let those people into the pen , but that could allow you to get in and over to that rail, see the parade, see the fireworks, and then have desserts if they let you in early enough.

This was discussed on chat. You can only see the tops of some floats and you cannot here the music. Consensus seemed to be that dessert party locations were not good for parade viewing.

Thanks! I was wondering if the view was going to be set too far back. Thank you for confirming

We thought about that but given our kids ages we are already pushing it with 10pm fireworks. Figured they will all be up for the pre party and if the little ones fall asleep can hang further back in the viewing area with a little more space

Just to be clear, Garden Plaza seating is a bit of a misnomer. There are no actual seats in that area (see the map below). You will be sitting on either the lawn or the cobble stones. During the fireworks show, your littles most likely will need to be standing.

As far as watching the paraded from the Garden Plaza, your view, especially for your littles, will be blocked by all the people standing on the sidewalk just outside of the Plaza perimeter.
