Universally Addicted to DLR & FanFest

I’ve been waiting until I got a new full time job before making my 2026 plans. However, in the last two months the cost of my May 2026 dates has gone up $400!!

I have been planning on going back to FanFest at Universal Hollywood ever since I left last year. I will still say it was the best theme park immersive experiences I’ve been a part of.

DD23 has had knee issues for almost a year. She finally got surgery and is healing well. We have flight credits that have to get used due to cancelling our 2025 HHN plans. I’ve convinced her to come with me. The dates are the same as last year May 5 - 9th, 2026

This give me the excuse to take her to DLR as well! Plus, I get to return!!

We are doing an arrival day at DLR then two more full dates. No Park Hopper, but we’ll have LLMP.

On Friday we leave for LA to do USH and FanFest Nights. We stay until the event closes at 2am. We get on a 5am flight back to home with no hotel stay!!

I admit as much as I hated missing our Dad & Daughter HHN trip she hasn’t done anything Disney since 2018. I’m really excited to show her DLR. Both her & my wife like UOR a lot because of the small scale of the resort versus WDW.

I got a room at the Tropicana for location. I have seen a room tour video. It looks acceptable for our needs. (A shower, luggage storage and beds)

Yay, Larry! Glad you (and DD) have some plans in the works! I’m hoping to get to DLR someday. My DD has been but DH and I have not.

I feel in love with it on my first trip this year. It may not be as massive as WDW, but it’s nicer IMHO.
