Looking to visit Universal in 2026, either the week of April 19th or May 10th. Primarily Epic Universe. Crowd calendar has the week of May 10 as fewer crowds for all parks except Epic - is there a known reason why Epic would be listed as more crowded in May compared to April while the other parks are not? or just because there is no history?
Just today I contemplated moving my beginning of March trip to mid April. If the weather doesn’t bother you, the beginning of May may have even lower crowds than April.
With the lack of shade in Epic I decided May was too sunny and warm for us.
I think there is a cheer comp April 16-19 iirc. Somewhere around then anyway. I’ve decided we will go the week just before that. I believe the bulk of the Easter/ Spring break crowd will be cleared by the 9th or 10th.
This. I wouldn’t trust the Epic crowd calander just yet. But the first half of May and the last half of April should be very similar. Just check for special events that may impact crowds.
Thanks! Both comments are super helpful!
Your welcome! I haven’t been to Universal in a while. I’m super excited for Epic. Doing all my research now. I think it will be hard to predict exact crowd levels. But there is a general pattern that follows Orlando theme parks.
It’s assumed that weekends will be busier than weekdays. But a weekend during the low to moderate crowd season is better than a weekday in higher crowd times IMO.
Correct about the cheer competition April 16-19 and looks like the onsite hotels are Cabana Bay, Dockside, Hard Rock and Terra Luna for that. For that reason, I would choose May. I do not have much faith in the Epic crowd calendar right now, either. Generally speaking, it may be because Epic crowds will not decrease as much as the other parks based on typical crowd levels. Because it is new, other parks might have a lull, but Epic will still be crowded. In the same way you are planning to focus on Epic, so are others.
Generally so far at Epic, Sundays have been the quietest days. I imagine the lack of APs currently plays a role in this though.
I agree with this, but wonder if this pattern will hold up during the school year. Probably will continue until APs, but there is a chance school schedule dynamics will impact the days guests are at Epic.
Well the Florida school year has been in session for at least 3 weeks now. But agreed that the future crowds are literally anybody’s guess.
I’ve noticed that. Interesting. I’m wondering if that will continue into 2026.
