Universal Orlando News & Planning Thread

It’s not scheduled to close until 2027. So, you should still be able to ride this summer.

No word on what may replace it yet

I know it’s crazy, but I want to ride it so bad. I like cars, I like the franchise (yes, I know the movies are goofy, but I like them anyway). When I was there last, it was just before soft opening. I wanted to ride so bad  . I hate it’s not considered a good ride but still want to try it out…

I absolutely LOVE these movies! I’m on edge waiting for the next one!! The finale for part one is a cliffhanger!! (literally!! )

So, I’m thrilled for this! I am going to Hollywood in May. I’m hoping their version of the coaster is ready out there by then. It’s testing daily now.

As far as F&F Supercharged goes, it’s not as bad as everyone says. It’s not good, but not the dumpster fire people want to make it out to be. I’ll ride it anytime versus Jimmy Fallon or even V-CON. It’s just silly, not thrilling and a clone of Kong Skull Island. It replaced a beloved a couple of beloved attractions that had that space and those were probably better. (Disaster and Beetlejuice Show)

I was thinking tonight, if I’d have the chance to ride it before it closes and I’m not sure. I hope so!!!

How does Supercharged compare to the portion of the studio tour in Hollywood with the F&F building? Is it basically the same but with a different vehicle? (I think you’ve been on both.)

I love the movies too! They need to come on with the next one.

I have! It’s the finale of the Studio Tour in Hollywood.

It’s basically a tram ride at both places. The Hollywood ride is everything from after the bad guy shows up and you begin the chase. The Orlando version has a preshow and the section where you go to the party at the beginning and The Rock shows up.

The Orlando version feels more like an actual ride and in Hollywood it is in an old tunnel section of the tour that originally housed a spinning scene from a 1970s movie called Avalance.

I have done the Hollywood version but maybe I’ll have to try the Orlando version before it shuts down.

This is new! There doesn’t seem to be much fanfare about this.

Now that’s the best news!

I have ridden this exactly once. And when we got off every last person in my family from my kids to parents and mother in law I believe and hubby who likes the movies alright said it was awful and never again. And we’ve stuck to that word. Now the chucky house in HHN over there allowed me to see the queue again. But I refused to give this thing more of my life. The one in Hollywood doesn’t bother me as much as part of the tram tour and Kong is much better in the same way Spidey is much much better than transformers.

@PrincipalTinker do you think it would be beneficial to create a designated Temporary Closures thread? Or just keep posting them here? @missoverexcited ?

What are you thinking? A pinned post for Uni/WDW/DL?

I was only thinking of UOR. And didn’t consider a pinned thread. It would just be like this one, but maybe quicker to find that specific (important) info.

I was reading about this online this morning. There were a lot of posts about water and sinkholes. I don’t know if sinkholes are a real concern but as someone who lives outside of Boston I don’t think water is an issue. The Sumner tunnel opened in 1934.

I was listening to WDWNT podcast recently and they were talking about the things from Horizons that haven’t come true and one example was people living underwater. My first thought was that people in Boston drive underwater every day!
