Universal Orlando News & Planning Thread

I got to ride Jurassic World in Hollywood last year. I was so disappointed. The water tank scene is awesome. However, they cut a lot of stuff I adore from JPRA.

I’d be OK if UOR ever does decide to convert everything to JW for consistency though.

Ok…you do get 2 big dinos there. That’s pretty cool. I didn’t give them enough credit for that!!

Given that it is highly likely my December 2025 (which would have kicked off visits for 15 months) plans will be canceled (for a good reason, I promise) I’m too upset. I have plans to blitz visits for December 2026, January 2026, and February 2026, and then visit if I am able. Lot’s of time to visit this ride.

Crazy how footers are already being poured for the new coaster that’s replacing RRR.

Any guesses on opening date for the new one? Summer 2027?

That’s a pretty good guess at this pace.

Mega Movie Parade is having an extended down time due to construction along the parade route (overnight issues in Hollywood lead to work walls up, no idea what happened).

My guess is a water / sewer line work or issue during construction. Only a guess, but is a common reason for work walls… :man_shrugging:

Universal has started to testSingle Attraction Express Pass at Mummy and Kong Skull Island. Would you pay $25 to skip these queues?

(Personally, I think it’s price high intentionally to discourage too many people from using during testing. It could also be a simple money grab though!:shark::shark:)

You scan the QRC at the ride and pay in the App.

Are these not included with regular express pass? I hope no one buys it, lol

AH I want this to be expanded everywhere!

I would probably be willing to pay up to 50-75% of the EP price to only rides the ones that I want to ride.

They are! It’s for people that just want to skip a single queue.

I suspect they chose Mummy and Kong to test it to avoid creating operations issues. If you did this at more popular attractions like Hagrid’s or VC people would buy it more

I could maybe see the Mummy. But is ANYONE going to pay to skip the line for Kong? LOL! Maybe my husband and I are in the minority, but we only go on it once a trip with unlimited express passes. And if we missed it altogether, we wouldn’t care.

We love Mummy. I’m not paying to single ride it though (at least not at $25). I don’t remember Kong.

I would have preferred Mummy and Spider-Man

I sincerely think Kong was chosen because it’s not going to get much use. However, that queue is consistently 60+ minutes as they no longer run all the vans they can. So maybe someone will use it.

I do like Kong. It’s better at night with the outdoor sections operating and with 3-D.

Depending on the situation, maybe. If it was just me and DW, then no. If we were with the kids and time was an issue for whatever reason, then I’d consider it. If one of my kids wanted to ride and the other did not want to ride, then I would pay the $25 (per person).

We don’t really have a Universal Hollywood thread so I thought I’d post it here

The F&F Hollywood Drift coaster is making test runs on the track now!

I am really hoping it will be ready for FanFest next April/ May!!
