This makes me think they are dealing with a problem of empty hotel rooms on Sundays, and so this is a way to attempt to change that!
It does seem to be this week specifically. However, when you make the start date any day between Sun. - Thursday and ending on Friday there’s plenty of rooms. Adding in Saturday, 1/27/24, in any way is when all the availability vanishes.
I checked other weeks after that one. You still get the discount for starting on Sunday. However, you can still get rooms on Saturdays going forward.
The weekend of @kerrilux_625778 trip seems like it will be a bit busy…
Thank goodness for EP!!
I currently have a cabana booked on 1/27 at VB in case the weather cooperates. Hopefully it will be nice and quiet while the other 2 parks are crowded.
This is what I like to do as well. It will still get busy at VB, but IME not until after lunch
There is no unlimited EP for VB, is that correct?
Correct, EP for VB allows you to do each ride once. There are two tiers, and the higher tier includes all slides. The lower tier excludes drop slides.
I’m really hoping to have a VB day. But as of now the long term forecast looks a little too chilly. Hoping for a surprise warm up late this month. ![]()
You also don’t get OhNo & OhYea! slides with the basic express pass.
I presumed you were only referring to the drop slides at the top of the volcano - even though these are “drops” too!
New upcoming maintenance closure to report.
Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show: January 16 - 18, 2024
Updated: We sent folks to the parks and asked for maps and Guest Relations had none.
I do find that Universal is easy to navigate without a map but I would have been lost on my first visit.
We all know technology doesn’t always work like it should. I guess the majority will have no problem with this change.
Even before I was an official Liner (first trip) I printed a map at home and brought with. ![]()
#bornLiner
I have finally stopped doing this with directions! I do screen shot them before I leave, just in case.
I’ve never thought to print park maps. I do still print my TPs. I didn’t reference the printed versions once during last trip however.
I never used the paper maps in Universal, but the map in the app is atrocious. Not intuitive at all. Sometimes I do a google search if I want to find something cause the labels don’t tell you what you want to know. Instead you see all these vague icons. Is it a ride? a bathroom? Who knows.
Maybe that will be half the fun!!

(I have to start using my snarkgator)
I have to agree! I would say I’m a “pro” at the app now, but it took a lot of practice. Even now, I’ll sometimes forget which submenu I need to use to find the location I want. Mostly, it’s about know how to apply filters! (but also… how to even find the filter!!!)
Update on the WWOHP interactive wand experience at USF and IOA
(Report from Alicia Stella)
“Just like the first two Wizarding World lands at Universal Orlando, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, this new Wizarding World area is expected to feature several interactive wand experiences within window displays and more”.
“To prepare for these new and modernized wand experiences, it is rumored that the existing wand experiences at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida will be upgraded and new Interactive Wands will be introduced for sale”.
“The new wands are rumored to contain replaceable batteries, haptics, and new connectivity to the official Universal Orlando app. The upgraded experiences are rumored to feature improved visual effects. It’s rumored that existing interactive wands will still work with the upgraded experiences, but new wands will be needed for additional functionality”.
“These changes and the new wands are expected to debut some time this year, in 2024”.
Nooooooooooooo!!!
