One of these days I would love to go to an OI meet up!

I did one a few years ago (before COVID, I think). It was good but …

  1. Wandering around half-empty parks at night is kinda weird.
  2. The super popular rides (Hagrid) still had pretty long lines.
  3. There’s way too much food.
  4. I left early because I was just too tired to keep going.

$450 for two nights is a lot but damn that’d be cool to do. Just wish they offered an Epic only option.

We did one a few years ago too and I actually thought there wasn’t enuf food. We were able to ride all the big rides practically walking in and got lucky with hagrids becuz lightning before the event started had cleared out the line so right when the event started we jumped in nearly an empty line right when it reopened. But all the other rides were easy and my teens just kept reriding rrr and hulk over and over and over. However all the food lines were enormous and so we didn’t eat at all. I tried to wait in one I think it was bumblebee tacos but after 15 min and not moving we got out. Plus they ran out food items. However, maybe you went after me and they fixed this in later years. I’d still prefer express pass over this event tho maybe cuz I didn’t win pteranadon flyer pass.

We’ve been to a bunch of OI events, and are dying to go to the Epic one. I anticipate it selling out long before we have the funds though. We have zero complaints about any of the events we attended. Food was delicious, accessible, and plentiful. Lines were zero to none for food and super short to walk on for almost every ride. There were numerous rides that we rode repeatedly without even having to disembark and re-queue. Hagrid’s was the only substantial line and even that was under 40, so much lower than any regular park day. OI reps were around if you had any questions/concerns. We haven’t yet been to a Mardi Gras one, so I might be looking forward to a trip soon enough even if we can’t make the holidays/Epic one this year.
