Perfect! I’ll follow the instructions in the blog post later today, and then report back how it goes next month! Thanks again!
Hey Len, thank you! I used the new system and emailed the letter you generated to the above email address. At first I got an auto reply and was not that hopeful, but then today I got this reply, which I think is as good as I can hope for! Dear Anthea,
Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.
We are absolutely delighted that you’ve chosen the Walt Disney World Resort as your vacation destination, and we hope that your stay is filled with magic and unforgettable memories. To streamline your check-in process, you can now make requests via My Disney Experience. Please complete your check-in online at least 72 hours and up to 60 days in advance of your arrival. Once you have linked your reservation number to your My Disney Experience account, navigate to the Online Check-In option from your reservation details on the My Plans page, where you can select room location and amenity requests.
I have added your request to your reservation. While we will do everything possible to accommodate your request, please note that requests are not guaranteed. You will be notified when your room is ready via the preferred communication methods you have selected. Upon your arrival, the Cast Members at the Front Desk are available 24 hours a day to assist with additional requests or questions during your stay.
If you have additional questions about your upcoming visit, you may also contact our partners at Disney Travel Operations by calling 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639). Our specially trained Cast Members will be happy to assist you from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M., Eastern Time, seven days a week.
See you real soon!
With faith, trust, and pixie dust,
Carolina Rose

Fantastic! Let us know where you end up, please!
@len, I have asked on chat and here on the forum about this “up to 60 days” timeline that seems to be included in every response. I thought about it again this morning as I was listening to this week’s episode of the Disney Dish and the discussion regarding “trusting” Disney’s information. This is from my MDE account:
May 16, 2027 is definitely more than 60 days out. Do they not know that they changed that 60 day window years ago?
If you click that button, does it actually work? Like, can you do check-in now???
That’s interesting.
I’d heard from the room assigners that assignments now happen at the moment you enter the resort. So being able to start the check-in process this far in advance must have some other reason. I wonder what that is.
Is it possible that Disney does not know that this is activated when you make your reservation? I don’t think the change was ever announced and their current email response template states 60 days. Maybe having that field open at 11 months is a mistake?
Interesting. How do they know when this happens?
Yes. You can check in as soon as you make your reservations. I check in as soon as a book my flights, sometimes 4 to 6 months in advance. I checked in weeks ago for a stay that is 72 days from today.
If your MDE location services are set to Always On, they know exactly when you enter property. When you go through the guard area, they ask for your name and click it on the iPad as well. I usually get a text the moment I land at MCO that my room isn’t ready yet and another one as soon as my Uber/Lyft drives into the resort.
