Typhoon Lagoon Tips

We enjoyed a couple of days in Typhoon Lagoon during our recent WDW vacation. We were worried that it would be very busy as Blizzard Beach is still closed but it wasn’t as crowded as we expected. I recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the official opening time, a bit longer if you need to buy tickets or use the lockers. Before rope drop you can enter into the entrance area of the park near the store, use lockers etc. Rope drop was at exactly 10pm. We found a large shade shelter with multiple lounge chairs and picnic tables near the storm slides, exact location here. I recommend sitting on the side closest to the the park entrance to keep shade into the afternoon. Our favourite slides wereMiss Adventure Slides (4 person raft) and Crush n Gusher (3 slides with 2 person tubes). We found the signposts from the shelter area to the Keelhaul Falls, Mayday Falls, Gangplank Falls area confusing, you need to cross the bridge over the lazy river and turn right to go through a tunnel at the back of the wave pool. We went on a Thursday and a Saturday and it was significantly busier on Saturday, there were about twice as many people at rope drop compared to the Thursday we went, we assume that locals tend to go more at the weekend. On the Thursday we were able to go on slides for the first hour with practically no lines. Have fun if you go!

That’s the exact shady spot we found a few weeks ago. It was great.

Noted. We definitely want shade!
