Trader Sam's & Tambu Lounge on the same day

We want to get drinks at Trader Sam’s and eat at Tambu Lounge on the same day, and I’m not sure about the best way to go about it. I know for TS, we should be in line by 1ish to be among the first on the list, but then they don’t open until 3. I’ve also seen that for TL, you should get there a little before 4 so there isn’t a long wait.

So here are my questions  Should we just plan on having a wait at one of the two, is there a way to do it to minimize the wait time, is it better to do one before the other, and what is the best day of the week to go (our options are Halloween day before MNSSHP, or Sat-Thurs). Basically, what’s a good strategy to do both on the same day. We’ve never been to TS, so we definitely want to go in.

I would plan to put your name in at Sams and then go up to Tambu, where you can park for most of the time if not all of your wait time at Sams.

For Trader Sam’s, what time do they start putting names on the waitlist? 2pm? 2:30pm?

2pm AFAIK

Thanks. I’m trying to time it up so we don’t wait in line a long time (to be put on the waitlist…).

Sam’s is a tough one if you’re not staying at Poly or have other reasons to be hanging out there for an extended period of time.

But it’s fantastic if you can manage to work it in. Have you been?

We’re staying at the Poly. Super excited about it. It’s been on the top of my list for awhile.

We’re having a resort day, so the hope is to go to Trader Sam’s that day. I didn’t want to wait in line for an hour, just to be put on a waitlist. I’m okay to get there when they start taking names. I’ll be waiting for my name to be called while at the pool…

This is definitely the way to do it. They give you 15 minutes to come back so you can be anywhere at the Poly really.

Oh so that’s the exact perfect way to do this!

Just an FYI, the line usually starts forming before 2pm. We’ve done this twice in the last year. We park my niece in the line a little before 2pm and whoever is left goes up to Tambu Lounge to get a seat. My goal is usually to get my Ohana noodles at Tambu before they call us for Trader Sam’s…but sadly both times we got the notice for Trader Sam’s right at 4pm when you can start ordering the Ohana noodles!
