My mom lives near WDW and I brought DGD to see her. I had also bought an annual pass on the day they started seeking them again and it was just begging to be used. So to give DM and DGD some alone time and answer the call from the AP to use it, as much as possible, I booked a room at Pop Century for myself, with a discount. I drove over night to get to mom’s and stayed at her house until around 11, when I got my room number. It was not exactly one of the ones I requested, but it was close, and I think it was maybe a little better. Then I got on the Skyliner and went to EP IG. I thought it would be a much better place than any other park entrance to get my pass activated and it was great. No crowds, no lines. I went right to the window and it was done so fast. I had spent the morning getting LLs for Remy, Soarin’, and I had BG for GoTG. I was also going to MK and had collected some LLs for there too. I did some of the things I don’t do with my group- PP, MAWtP (cute, but we don’t do them because DM has a very hard time with the scooter and getting in the vehicles). Also HM, the Train, LF, BLSRS, because I love them. I had a place picked out where I could watch the fireworks around 8. I was perfectly content to just wait. However, I think maybe I dozed off a little and when I woke up huge clouds were taking over the sky. I decided I was not up for getting soaked that night. I left and hurried to the bus. It started raining as I got in sight of the line, and I was under the roof before the bottom broke and the water just spilled to the earth. There may or may not have been fireworks that night. I went to my room and slept so good.
Sunday I was up and ready to join another boarding group for GoTG, for later in the day, and get a first LL at HS, then out for EE at HS Skyliner down, out to bus, no bus coming, no idea when one will, Skyliner working, still no bus. I definitely prefer Skyliner so back to the station- wish they would figure out a way to let you know in the app. Still made it to HS in plenty of time for EE. TT. AlienSS, LL for TSM. Had LL for SDD. It went down. Multi experience anytime pass. LL MMRR.LL RR. Skyliner to Riviera resort, stop to get a freestyle drink, bus to DS. Meet DM and DGD. Guest relations to get DGD FL ticket DM bought for her, and see if we have any days left on our old non-expiring tickets- total of 16 days between us- amazing!! Shopping for us and other DGD and DGS at home. D-Luxe Burger for late lunch- DGD request. Ghirardelli’s for dessert. They go home and I get bus back to Riviera and go to Epcot. Been getting LLs for there ever since I got off RR. GoTG, Soarin’, Remy, because they are my favorite. Back to hotel for sleep. Have to get up early to catch the first bus to AK.
On Monday DM and DGD meet me at Animal Kingdom. I got there early and rode FOP, then Navi River. Meet them when they can come in. Bought ILL for FOP late in the day so I could do it 3 times. It was a great day. Did not use LL with them. They would rather do lines than spend the money. Waiting together is fun. Waiting alone, not so much. Together we did KS, EE(notDM), FotK, Tusker House lunch, FOP, the Nemo show. They left and I went back to FOP. Bus to hotel.
Tuesday was EP day, got BG 4 for DGD and myself. I got there for EE and rode Remy. Went down to SE to meet them when they got there. With DM we can get on SE really fast since she can’t walk more than a few steps. Then we went to GoTG. Very short line. MS, TSwN&F, LwtL, Soarin’, Figment, then it was time to check in for lunch at Le Cellier. Up to Remy. Remy went down and we got anytime pass. American experience then Remy was working again. We did that and they left. I left as well- Skyliner back to hotel. Coolish shower, stop for a drink bus to MK-the plan was to try and see the fireworks again. They had extended closing time to 11 and I was going to try again to see the fireworks. I had bought ILL for 7DMT for after fireworks and collected LLs all day for a great night. Took train from entrance to frontier land. Fell and hurt my ankle a little going down stairs exiting station. LL- BTMRR, HM, SW, LF. I should have gone to the same spot I had chosen the other night to watch the fireworks, but silly me decided just then that I wanted to be right in front of the castle. My original spot I could have watched while sitting down, would have been a great choice with a sore ankle. However, as I am a lot like Alice- “I give myself very good advice, but I very good advice, but I very seldom follow it”- I chose to stand for 45 minutes right in the middle of the biggest crowd at the park. I loved the show and was not in awful shape at the end, then as I was trying to sort of escape the crowd before I was swept toward the the entrance I managed to find a curb that there was no way, in the dark with all the people, I could have seen. I found it hard. Second fall of the night. I was hurting then. I did mention I was like Alice? Instead of getting help getting to the bus and seeing what they might do about my ILL, I decided I was going to get that ride before I left. I did. Then I walked to the bus. I did get to my room. I got to sleep and woke up hurting.
My least favorite ending to a Disney day ever.
The good part was DM and DGD were not coming to any parks Wednesday. I was going to have that day all to myself. I had plans, including after hours at HS. I did sleep too late to get to anything early, but I quickly realized I was not walking far that day. I was pretty sure I would not be doing much the rest of the week too if I had to walk the whole time. So I tried to be calm and figure it out. I called Scooter Bug and they actually had a scooter deliver to the hotel before an hour had passed. I went down to get it and got busy learning to drive it. I went over to AoA and did the color thing on the Disney Play app in the lobby. It requires a lot of going back and forth in the lobby. Then I went back to the hotel and asked for some ice packs and a doorstop so I could get the scooter in and out of the room. I had to wait for someone to bring the doorstop. I got lunch and took a nap. Finally the doorstop showed up and I got ready and went to go to HS. I had a reservation for 50sPTD for 8:50. Also once the scooter came I started collecting LLs. I was on my way by 3. I asked about getting the pass from Sunday added back and he just gave me anytime for Slinky. Oh well, no big score there, but I was still able to do a lot using only LLs. I poured while I was at dinner and rained almost the whole time after until after 11. Not great for keeping the scooter dry. I did MMRR came out into the rain and found a place to wait for it to stop again. I have never been rained on for 2 solid hours in Florida. When it stopped I gave up and ran for the bus. The weather app was telling me it was going to start again and I was listening to the good advice. Bus to hotel, bed.
Thursday morning awake and ready to go early for MK. The crowd going to Fantasyland thought the only way they allow entrance is I have no words- well, no nice words. I was not there for a hunt for as many of the Fab50 as I could find. I did okay. I will hope for another trip in a few months to finish them. Met DM and DGD at JC. Plan was to get return time, but we were the only ones there and one of the boats that carry her scooter was just coming in. So, straight on. PoC, HM, SW, PhilharMagic, UTS, BOG, Try for Tron- down, CoP, LF, back for Tron, through the crowd during a parade, Round trip on the train exit park. Had ticket for EP AH. Had to get ready to check out. Figured I would pack and nap and see what happened. At that point if I slept all the way through I knew I needed the sleep and we still had a day at HS.
Friday. Yes, I missed AH. I have been able to walk some, just not for hours. I walked my big suitcase out to my car and walked back to my room. I went back to my room and got ready for the day. Cleared the room, took small bags to car with my scooter. Off to the Skyliner on my way to HS. ToT. Meet DM and DGD at ToT. Ride again with DGD. Tried to get return time for ST. Straight in. RoR, MFSR, Frozen sing along, lunch at Sci-Fi, TSM- had the longest LL line I have ever seen. It was outside way into the street. Also short standby line inside. It took a while, but not as long as we expected. The LL line was still LONG, inside, but long, when we left. MMRR was the last thing. Last ride on Skyliner back to hotel fill mug, turn in scooter, drive to Mom’s for a few days of visiting.
Another Disney trip done. I had a good time in spite of some plans being messed up. There are things I do not need to do again. Mostly I am already looking forward to my next trip.
