I have 8 AM as the starting time for my Animal Kingdom touring plan, but the plan has me going to my first attraction at 9:25 for a LLS pass at 9:30. I also have a LLM pass for slot 8:30-9:30 for Navi River, but the plan has me at the attraction at 9:40. I am fine with this if it is beneficial. What I don’t understand is why the 1st 1-1/2 hours of my day has no attractions on the plan. Should I just arrive at 9 instead? Or are there suggestions to fix this?
My first thought is that you do not have enough attractions to fill the allotted time, and so the plan is choosing times that are most beneficial even if it leaves gaps in your day.
Can you link the plan here for all of us to see and trouble-shoot with you?

As @OBNurseNH suggested, you probably don’t have enough attractions to fill the day… it doesn’t start from the beginning if it is better to have you start later.
Try changing the end time for your plan by moving it up and your or two and then optimize.
You can share you plan. There is an option to publish it, and you can post the link it gives you.

Did you modify a standard plan TP created or did you start one from scratch? This reads like you took one of the standard plans and modified it. If you did that, I’d suggest creating a custom plan from scratch. It would more than likely work better and have you start earlier.

I did copy a plan. Then deleted/added what I wanted and then optimized it.

Honestly, I would just move Everest and dinosaur as your first two steps before this plan starts.

Gorilla Falls needs to be after Safaris. Also, you will most likely get LLs for your last 2 steps.
Change your walking to just one a bit slower than you have now… You have time to do the Feathered Friends in flight show.
It has you starting late because you do not have enough in your plan.
Double up Discovery Island Trails. And add the Oasis at the begining. Both are wonderful to walk around and enjoy.
I would move Navi before Avatar and Lion King next. The Feather in Flight show is around Kali RR so you can see it around them and save some walking around.
Maybe an evening stop at Nomads?
