Tourin Plan in MK: Too good to be true?

I am in the parks now. I have followed the touring plans, entered at early entry time and used my LLs and pretty much done it all and had no significant waits all week! We’ve done Epcot, HS, and AK (two days in HS) and tomorrow is our first day in MK. We have LL for Seven Dwarves, Tiana’s, Pirates, and Haunted Mansion. (We have LL for Tron Friday) So…I am looking at our TP for tomorrow and it has me rush into Early Entry to do…Carousel of Progress. ??? Isn’t that a walk on all day? Next the People Mover. Um, I just put that on there for giggles. Okay space mountain at 9:11 makes sense, but is that not open at early entry? then it lists Peter Pan’s flight, which I assumed would be first. The plan continues to have me ride all the rides I have LL for in the regular line, predicting waits of mostly 3-5 minutes, and no more than 18 minutes. Was I a fool to pay for the LLs? I have learned to follow these plans even when instinct tells me not to, but this this seems crazy. What do you think?

I almost want you to try this plan just to see if it works. :joy:

But I don’t think you will regret it if you go to Peter Pan or Space Mountain first. People Mover does tend to get a wait at certain points in the day, and it’s always a great option for the morning, but I agree rope dropping CoP and PM is probably a missed opportunity for knocking out a longer wait.

The software won’t distinguish between like a 6 min predicted wait for SM vs. a 5 min predicted wait for PM - it will say go to PM! But it may not factor in the volatility – SM could be 30-60 min instead if you go later, whereas PM will likely be at most 5-15 min if you are running late. So the software is saving you one minute if all goes according to plan, but could be costing you 55 min in the worst case scenario. Does that make sense?

You will optimize that plan when you get to the park to see if it changes?

SM is open for EE so I’d do that or PP first. I always first optimize then move my plan around to what makes sense and evaluate. I have found that with LLs and a good plan I really don’t wait long. That’s why I struggle at other theme parks - I don’t buy skip line passes anywhere else due to cost and without a good plan you wait 30-60 for everything. I’m spoiled!

So, we did Space Mountain first. I took COP and PM out of the plan and optimized. The plan made sense even though it disregarded my LL. So we partially followed it throughout the day, and when we veered off I optimized again

I realized the crazy wait times I gave you were my mistake. I was looking at the LL wait times. The TP times were pretty accurate except for the rides breaking down. Peter Pan would have been 35 minute wait except it broke down and we were trapped in the bedrooms for another 30 minutes.

We did COP and PM just before grabbing a drink and snack at Beak and Barrel. Very relaxing

We did all essential rides in MK and had a leisurely lunch at Skipper’s Canteen, a Dole Whip break and time for shop browsing and pin trading before watching the Starlight parade and fireworks. We never could get a LL for Jungle cruise ( the plan did tell us to go earlier) which I was hoping for. Also we skipped the Dumbo type rides and saved Tron for next day when we have LLSP.

My conclusion: TP were probably the most efficient, but didn’t account for the vibe. No one wants to rush into the park filled with excitement and do COP. Not even fans like me.

Now we are off for day two in MK!! We plan to start with Space Mountain, do Tron and maybe get to Jungle cruise!!!
