To Oogie Boogie or to Not Oogie Boogie?

I have bought Park Hoppers and plan to buy LLPP for 8/20 as I have a DD18 and DS21 who are past the joys of Disney charms beyond large attractions. But I myself and my DH can truly enjoy the spirit of the parties and what they offer outside of attractions. So, I’m trying to decide if I want to buy party tickets and do a date night for 8/19 with just the DH. If this tips your advice, I already have a Megara costume with accessories including jewelry, hair thing to put it in a high pony and shoes. I’m trying to convince DH and I think he agreed to at least wear a Hercules T-Shirt but they have running shorts that look like the bottoms I’m trying to convince him to wear if we go. So should I do it but remember sunk costs don’t mean additional costs are worth it economically speaking LOL. And if we don’t go, we’ll be nice and rested for a full long day on 8/20

Should I do a date night?

I think my vote was heavily influenced by all the “live for today” sentiment running through @stlouie’s current thread. I also just now spent way too much on tickets to the Vienna state opera for two non-opera buffs (me and DH).

I put yes simply because it’s something you might as well try once. I’m doing MNSSHP at MK in Orlando this October for the first time, and did my first MVMCP last year. Even if you just do the rides it can be worth it. The treats, characters, and entertainment are icing on the cake.

To add, I will probably not repeat any of these parties after trying them once. Not really something that blows me away the way it apparently does others. I don’t really fawn over Jack Skellington or whatever.

Had to look up who this was–you’ll look fantastic I’m sure!

Sounds fun–hope you decide to go.

That’s ok! I’ve wanted “enabling” more than once about trip planning! Sounds great!

If that’s what you want and you are there anyway, go for it! I don’t think you need us to enable you.

I resolved all my probs.
Kid (who will be 21 and I can add to rental car) is gonna drop us of Monday 8/18 after I get off work at 2pm so we should get there for 3pm checkin at Pixar Place and then we’ll go to Disneyland till midnight catching all the nighttime shows including trying to get a good spot for Wondrous Journeys, then the later Paint the Night and the final Tapestry of Happiness. I have some 70th snacks I want to try including the 70th Celebration Macaron from Jolly Holiday and the cheeseburger fries from Golden Horseshoe.

Then we can sleep in and just do Oogie Boogie dedicated to it on 8/19 after maybe checking out the hotel pool/slide (the only one I haven’t done of the DL slides) during the day

Then the kids will drive back and join us on 8/20 for the LL rides and I’ve booked the brunch at River Belle Terrace and the Dinner at Blue Bayou for their 70th menu items and I still have the dessert party booked for WoC.

I mean what does it cost but money and organization to fit it in more relaxed like! Disney math says this is the way.

This should let me fit in all the things in a more relaxed pace

We stayed at Pixar Place last month, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. My DD thought the location was better than DLV for walking (when we were at DLV in January the monorail was under refurb so lots of extra walking). It was quiet and the beds were super comfortable. Only issue there is the elevators, they don’t seem to be able to meet demand (and are the kind where you choose your floor outside and then a specific elevator is assigned and you can’t just get on another one, even it if is there first). Lower floors are better if you like to request. We were on the 4th floor so took stairs down when we were short on time. Higher floor patrons were constantly complaining about it, a manager was out at busy times taking some people around the corner to the staff elevators to calm the escalating tension. Other than that, it’s such a fun hotel. Love the room decor!
Brunch at River Belle was delicious!

Good to know about floor. I was on third floor last time I stayed there I think (pool floor) when it was Paradise Pier.

Ack my alarm didn’t go off and I was 13 minutes late (and 28 for getting into the queue) and now there is over an hour wait. :frowning: I might not get it.

Look I set it right and everything. Why didn’t it go off?

I’m central time so that’s 840am PDT

I am so worried I’m gonna be screwed. I have to remind myself it’s not the end of the world, I’ve been before LOL

I will say when it was the presale, there was a note on this page about what was sold out and so far I don’t see that on this page :crossed_fingers:

Now I need a cocktail. I’m not in a meeting with my team’s management team including our VP or anything…LOL
Also, yay for being hybrid allowing me to buy tickets while being in a meeting.
