Yes! That is still the general rule. Every once in a while you will hear an isolated report that it did not work but that might be an isolated system glitch ?
It is also worth remembering that if you have an anytime FastPass on you account (due to an earlier ride closure or whatever), then trying to use your scheduled FastPass during the grace period will probably not work and it will use the anytime FastPass instead.
If you notice this happening, go straight back to the CM that scanned the pass. They can look it up and fix it. I take screenshots to to be safe, the JC CM looked it up.
