first of all, how obnoxious are these TIERS?! is there a clearly defined list anywhere of what is a Tier 1 FP+ and what is a Tier 2 in each park?

There is a clearly defined list, although DIS does change things on occasion. Examples, character greet at Epcot got bumped up to Tier 1 recently & HS just changed to Toy Story Land being Tier 1 for all 3 once it opens.
I think the current tier ones are:
- Epcot: FEA, TT, Soarin’, Illuminations, Character Greet
- HS: Toy Story Land (AS2, TSMM, SDD)
- AK: Pandora (FOP or Navi River)

thank you, @ryan1! that link led me to their FP Availability Chart which shows me that Distribution for Avatar: FoP is already DONE for JULY 22nd!! oh. my. goodness. i’ll keep checking back a couple of times a day to see if anything changes … i have FPs for it, but i’d love to move them just an HOUR earlier!! beggars can’t be choosers, i know … lucky to have what we have!! YIKES!
@lmcoyle FOP is gone at 60 days out most of the time. Most people have to get it at 60+ several days. The same is true of the new Slinky Dog Dash. You can keep checking back and trying to modify to get some of those hard to find FPs.

60 days out!! that’s incredible … i’m planning this trip for my brother, who is taking his family for the first time this July. we prefer to go in early December when crowds and temps are LOW … so i’m not used to things filling up like this … CRAZY!!!
