Ticket change question

Relatively clueless when it comes to Universal here. DD and I are having to change our plans to spend one day at Universal due to Milton. We are hoping to shift plans and tack on Universal to the end of our WDW time, so go on 10/14 instead of 10/10. Plan B, if we can’t get there at all this week, would be reschedule to 11/21 when we plan to be at WDW again. We have one-day tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist for 10/10. Is it possible to link and change the ticket date on Universal’s website? I’m not seeing anyplace to do that. Or, can they change the date over the phone, or do we just have to go to guest services when we finally get there and exchange our then-expired ticket? Does it make a difference if we change it past the scheduled use date? Since the 10/14 cost is more than we paid, and the 11/21 cost is less, I don’t want to change the date to 10/14 until I’m sure we can get there - at this point hoping to fly down late on 10/10.

Unfortunately, because you bought your tickets through a third party site you are probably stuck.

When things like this happen Universal will work with you / refund you if the tickets were bought directly from them.

You have to call 1-407-224-4233 to speck to them to do.

I would still call and ask just in case. I’ve had to get ticket refunds and the TMs on the phone always ask, “How did you buy your tickets” when I call. That’s how I got the info.

I would also call UT to see what they might be able to do.

GL!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks. I know UT will refund the tickets for a small fee but was hoping we could just change the date. It’s so seamless with WDW to link and modify tickets wherever you bought them, I was hoping Universal was similar. Guess I’ll call UT.
I’ll also try Universal but will wait until I know whether we can get there this weekend.

This happened to me and is why I will no longer buy UOR tickets from UCT. Having bought them from UCT means Uni won’t help you and they tell you to call UCT. They will only refund and you lose some of it to a restocking fee. You can easily change ticket dates on the app if they were bought from Universal. It’s so frustrating!
I would call UCT and see what they offer, just in case it’s better 2 years later. I think I ended up having them cancel the tickets, refund what they would, and then rebought at a higher price directly from Universal. I’m sorry for the added frustration on top of the hurricane worries. Stay safe!

Thanks, I’m guessing you are right. Guess that saves me a call to Universal. Bummer but small potatoes compared to what so many are going through. Lesson learned.

I supported UCT for many years and still buy Disney tickets from them. Not sure why the UOR tickets have to be an issue. Each side blamed the other when I had my issue.

I just saw MCO is shutting down Wednesday morning. Not sure when your flight is.

Good, that will trigger cancel and refund of my Breeze flight Wednesday morning. I moved our Southwest flight to Thursday evening already so keeping fingers crossed they will open by then.

My experience is that Universal is great at accommodating changes. That being said, I was on hold for 50 mins to make a change on Sunday before I gave up. And I’m on hold again today: 20 mins so far.

Though I suppose now is a terrible time to be calling Universal.

Hope you are able to get through! Are you in Orlando also this week? I’ve not been following as many threads right now with all the trip rearranging I’ve been doing.

I can only imagine they’re answering a zillion calls the next couple of days!

He’s planning a trip for December.

Yes. I had a schedule all set up for December, but then had to change something. A lot can be done online, but you can’t change the dates of Express Passes online and that’s what I need to do.

But it’s not urgent. I’ll wait till after the storm has passed.

I just called Undercover Tourist and they cancelled the tickets for 5% fee, which was about $21 so not too bad. But, the agent did say if we rebook the tickets within 30 days and call with the new order # they will refund the 5% fee. I’m pretty happy with that. But will wait until we are on the ground in Orlando to rebook.

I acted 3 hours too soon. Received this email:

So could have used the tickets we had either later option. Doh!

It’s good news they took action. It sucks that you jumped through those hoops. At least UCT will give you the fee back when you do purchase!
