Agreed this seems like it could work for you. Since you’re actually paying for the room (and not cancelling it last minute) I see no ethical issue with this. What you do with what you paid for is up to you. Even if you just stash bags there during the day or don’t even go there at all.
They do but only if you cancel within 3 days that you would be eligible for without the reservation, and by then it is too late to cancel without penalty. (Even if a loophole is used to get out of the penalty, I don’t recommend doing this due to ethical concerns and also impact on inventory.)
That approach can work, since onsite guests get early entry and extended Lightning Lane booking privileges tied to their reservation dates. You may also receive access to Disney transportation and package delivery to the resort if staying on-site. Just confirm your park reservations and linked tickets align properly so you can fully use those benefits.
