I’m not sure what happened. I decided to search the Citi Travel Portal for things to do on my birthday weekend. And of course I had to check hotels near Disney.
Guess what? Ifound the Swan for under $300 a night, all in! So I booked it.
And paid for it with Citi points
So technically, it’s free.
It’s my birthday weekend after all. Gotta treat myself.
So far I have thrown every Liner™️ trait out the window. I forgot to book LLs at my 7+, forgot to book some dining, almost missed the deadline to add our TSA precheck to our boarding passes, forgot to reserve our airport parking spot until 2 days ago, and what else? LOL
Well here we are. At MCO at 4am. Just waiting. I was concerned with the government shutdown. But MSY seems to be smooth… for now. Let’s just see what MCO brings ![]()
The Plan (which I changed almost completely exactly 2 days before departure
):
Sat: Epcot morning, break at Swan, HS evening
Sun (my actual 44th birthday): Putt Putt, brunch/lunch somewhere, little rest back at the Swan, then MK - WHERE THE BEST LINER MEET EVER WILL HAPPEN! @QwertySC
That evening will be our first ever visit to Ohanas!
- Side Note
: For Saturday, I managed to get a Beak and Barrel for 6! So I will be meeting up with Stacy, her DH John, and her 2 youngest DDs, Katriel and Johanna ![]()

So. Excited!
Mon: Epcot morning, break at the Swan, AK evening with a Y&Y dinner
Tues: Quick HS morning with a hop to Epcot before we have to leave for the airport at 4:45pm. ![]()
I do have a back up flight booked for Wednesday morning if things go sideways that late in the evening at MCO. If available, I’ll snag a room at the Hyatt Regency MCO. Or a nearby hotel if worst comes to worst.
This trip is just DH and I. We need a little break ![]()
We’ll be Home real soon!!!
