"The London Resort" officially canceled

The London Resort, originally known as “London Paramount Entertainment Resort” has officially been abandoned, after over a decade of beureaucratic redtape led to overwhelming debts.

Planned to be built in Kent, Paramount Pictures was going to be the driving force (proposed attractions being based on Mission: Impossible, The Italian Job, and A Quiet Place, among others), but what was going to sell the idea to the British was the involvement of Aardman Animation, the British Film Institute, the BBC, and ITV. Other proposed Anglo-centric attractions included Doctor Who, Sherlock, Top Gear, Thunderbirds Are Go, and Robozuna.

Paramount pulled out in 2017, instead deciding to build in South Korea (after Universal withdrew to build in Beijing). The BBC and ITV dropped out in 2022.
