The Lightning Lane Thread! All WDW Info Here

It experiences intermittent issues when Disney clamps down on bot-like activity. Yesterday it was reported that Disney clamped down again.

You should still be able to use BG1 for VQ (if you’re there when one is being used) and to track wait times, and it’s worth it to keep trying from time to time since it may start working again any time.

@atinsley22 so bg1 didn’t let you Prebook? I was hoping even tho it wasn’t working that it would still work when prebooking - I got next week too! :sob:

I was able to Prebook in bg1 with no network errors this morning for my trip! Thank god! I would do one LL in MDE and the rest in BG1 with zero issue. Let’s see if it works during our trip :folded_hands:

Excellent news! Glad it worked out.

Hey flutegarden, just adding to my reply below to note that, no, a subscription is not required. The drop times are visible even when one is signed out. It’s on the TP website, listed in the descriptions of the rides.

I’m not sure that’s a good idea. We want as few people as possible to know about these.

I am going to jump in here and give a different perspective. Almost every single Disney planning site has “drops” or “refills” on their sites. Some of it is really, really bad info (see wdwprep MK info).

Touring plans is a business and although we all pay a subscription, to me, what this forum, chat, the touring plans tools, and help I have received every single day, far exceed any subscription cost. Touring plans needs to remain competitive.

Having accurate, detailed drop data will make touring plans unique.

Finally, from Len’s posts I believe touring plans independently confirmed drop times. (I may be wrong but I know Len referenced an intern project and Thrill Data). I believe @popupcamper did something similar for the liner spreadsheet.

I know there are some “big feelings” about drops and I understand those feelings but I think Len did the right thing.

Last trip to DW was Mar ‘25. Family and I will be returning in 2 weeks. Lots of reading to catch up here but it doesn’t appear much has changed since our last trip. Will be using (hopefully) BG1 in the park combined with some zombie stacking on certain days and utilizing drops throughout each day. Just noticed there are no VQ’s currently? Loved the ability to VQ a ride and ride twice. I’ve been learning and following some of you guys on this thread and others for years now and what a Big help. My wife and daughters call me a master Disney planner lol. All thanks to Threads like these and the research and effort to deliver accurate info. HS is the only Park I still stress about because of the numerous quality rides. Currently discussing LLPP for that Park alone. $$$ expensive but worth it to me simply to relax and enjoy that Park. There are many like me that lurk for years on your threads and are able to take the information and make our family trips to DW even more memorable. Thanks to All!

I’ve done LLPP at HS twice. If you have any questions about my experiences with it, let me know.

Someone on a podcast the I was listening to the other day called out the fact that for some families, the cost of LLMP and LLSP for a single day can be the equivalent of a night’s hotel - or sometimes more! I never thought of it that way before, but it’s true. And that’s nuts.

That’s actually how I have justified the cost. Last year we stayed the first night at All Star Sports instead of BLT 1 bedroom and were able to almost cover LLPP at HS for all 4 of us with the savings.

I always Disney Math my way into BOTH LL and an extra night at a better hotel.:rofl::rofl:

Hmm, this sounds oddly familiar. Me to DH: we are arriving at the Grand on Saturday but flights were a little cheaper on Friday so let’s add in a night at the Riviera. For LLs, I get to blame DH because he doesn’t like rope drop or waiting on lines so he always says to splurge. :woman_shrugging: I can’t complain!

Since paid LLs became a thing, and because we travel from Europe, so always long trips, with 14 day ticket and 14 LL days (we definitely hate waiting in lines), we have decided our deluxe and moderate days are over. We now stay exclusively at POP. And yes, LLMP& LLSP for two is very close to our accommodation cost per night. We have also reduced fine dining / character meals to a very few per stay. The rest is QS or meals in room.

Pop is my favorite! Of course Deluxe is “finer” but Pop has so much going for it! I take it over some of the mods and a few of the Deluxes, easily.
I’m just hoping to get back before they scrap the current system (so many rumors). Once they reintroduce it was be more expensive for sure. :sob:

What rumors are you referring to??

There are apparently rumors that LL will be replaced by something else, like maybe pay-per-ride (like in Paris) or just LLPP. I have not seen these rumors first hand - only rumors of rumors, so I don’t have a lot to go on.

I mean, it’s not exactly a new way of doing things in Disney Parks…
