The Lightning Lane Thread! All DLR Info Here

The TP has an error that I have called out but they have yet to fix it. It’s 2 hours.

For DCA what’s the order of preference for WebSlingers vs RSR if I’m alone and booking them back to back (ILLs)? I’d assume Spidey since it’s new but there’s no chart above to compare.

Both have followed a virtually identical, and neither seems to run out very often. Nearly immediate return windows are usually available for both. The standby line is about the same for each as well. So I wouldn’t worry too much. Just get whichever one is more convenient, or whichever one is your higher priority.

Thrill Data

Alone I would probably use the single rider line for RSR. If it looks too busy, spring for the ILL. It’s not like at WDW where you have to be quick before it sells out.

It wasn’t operating last time I was there and I got stuck in the 70 min line :frowning: I would rather pay the money than risk it.

Jeff_AZ,
Do you have this same data for Disney Land. We are going in May and it will be very helpful.

Thanks.

Sure - see pasted tables below. You can get it all and much, much more at this link.

As you can see, RotR runs out of availability by about 9:30am. No other attraction runs out of LL availability before the attraction close time (note that Roger Rabbit closes early with the rest of Toon Town). Space Mountain and Indiana Jones cycle through return times the fastest (return times are dispensing for about 2 hours in the future by the afternoon).

Availability looks great compared to WDW. A couple reasons:

  • Crowds are probably relatively low right now.
  • Since so many guests are local / Magic Key holders, they tend to need (and presumably buy) Genie+ less on average than guests at WDW (same phenomenon happened with MaxPass).

Thanks for the link! The graphs help me out since I’m a bit nervous for my trip next week. Genie+ is the elephant in the room. I have a rough plan but will wing it again.

Here’s hoping the Genie+ situation is as good for you as its been the last couple of weeks! You should be able to get almost immediate return times all day, as long as you prioritize the top tier attractions first.

I hope so, too! It is a 3 day trip with Genie+ only on Day 3.

Thank you.

Do I understand that Genie+ functions a bit differently at DLR than at WDW? Besides the photo pass stuff, what are the differences?

The main differences are:

  • Cost ($20 vs $15 for Genie+; RotR is also $20)
  • First LL reservation after entering the park (7am at WDW)
  • ILL return times are “next available” at DL vs WDW where you can select your time
  • Only 3 ILL attractions (RotR, RSR, Webslingers) vs 2 per park at WDW
  • Photopass comes with Genie+ at DL

I may have missed something but that’s what I can think of.

I didn’t know this. Are these also only bookable once you’re in the park or at 7am for hotel guests?

Only bookable once in the park.

Thanks, @Jeff_AZ!
I just returned from a trip to WDW and struggled with Genie+. I really wasn’t able to select my time and this was a huge source of frustration for me. I still think I’m confused by how this works. Do you mean that while refreshing the app at WDW might yield other times, it won’t at DL?

Genie+ works the same at both DL and WDW. You can’t select a time - you are just given the next available slot. If someone cancels their LL selection or if more capacity opens up, sometimes earlier times will pop up if you keep refreshing, but no guarantee.

It’s Individual Lightning Lane selections (like RotR) that are different. At WDW, you can select from all available return times during the day. At DL, you have to take the next available slot (same as Genie+).

Does that make sense?

Ah, yes. Thanks! I see that I misread your post that specifies ILL, not Genie+. Thank you for taking the time to clarify for me.
