I had to laugh when Len said that people should really google their code names. There is a project team where I work that is full of “young people” called Project Deliverance! Apparently it is named after a Star Destroyer but if only they had done a quick google search!
Please tell me you enlightened them on their choice! ![]()
I had to!
I’m a decent Star Wars fan but nobody’s mind jumps straight to a New Republic novel here!
How DARE Len disrespect Lanny & Wayne like that!
C-listers ![]()
Today’s episode was a lot of fun! I laughed and learned and loved.
Shmersday is becoming one of my favorite commutes, even though the rest of the day sucks.
Haha!
Ok but they talked about rope dropping SDD, which has come up recently on the forum. Len said they are adding a button to the customized Touring Plans to say that you are “truly rope dropping” as in “grandma running over kids” rope drop. That will solve the problem a lot of people have with getting a 50-minute wait at the beginning of the day and being told to come back later.
That said, Len also confirmed there is a lull in the line around 45 minutes after it opens, so that could be why the software wants you to come back later if you’re not truly at the front of the RD crowd.
One other note: I was confused last week that they said George Wilkins wrote One Little Spark, because I thought the Sherman Brothers did. I might have missed this nuance, but the Sherman Brothers did indeed write that song, but Wilkins incorporated it into various Epcot loop tracks.
I think he missed an opportunity with a different holiday classic, “Run, Run, Rope Drop,”
Nice Catch!
Expanding: “Run, Run, Rope Drop. Granny’s going to beat you to Pan”
I feel like a Sherman brother right now.
I got to experience the actual rope drop in front of me in July 2022 at the height of revenge travel. We were at the front of the crowds and walked non-stop into Rey’s room on RotR on a day that HS opened to resort guests a full hour before to day guests. Then when from there straight to Slinky and was greeted to a 15 minute posted wait. After Slinky we we back to Galaxy’s Edge to find a 20 minute wait to Smuggler’s Run and were in the queue when day guests were finally let into the park.
@len I have been to Level99 at least a dozen times and I think it will do amazingly in Disney Springs. I would not worry about the building not being purpose-built. The one in Natick, MA is built in an old Sears! Tell Jim that one is closer than RI if he wants to go.
Question - do you think they will make Disney themed rooms? I would pay the 40% markup even for one Disney room!
I’ve been to Tivoli, but not the original Legoland. A dream trip though.
That’s an interesting question. I’m not sure. I think Disney would be concerned about them using Disney IP outside of Walt Disney World. But that’s something the lawyers can figure out. So … maybe?
I just mean at the Disney Springs location!
Oooh, are we taking a field trip to Level99 with Jim? I’m in!
Is this the location that was mentioned in this week’s episode? Someone wrote in to tell about how much they love it.
Random and unnecessary information, but I dated a guy during college that worked at that Sears!
Sorry I’m very behind. Yes! That was it. I loved how Len called it Nat-ick vs Nay-tick. Jim should organize a meet!
Jim complained about the advertising made all the rooms look like you need to be an athlete to do. Many of them require some physical skill (it’s noted) but definitely not all of them. And some are like a small amount of balance or something. It is a really fun place and all of this chatter makes me want to go back soon.
My DH worked at Sears for many years, but not that one! We have a boring old Primark in the “old Sears” in my current town. I wish we could get a Level99!
My DH also worked at Sears many moons ago, though here in Manch. Paint department.
I had no idea he’d had that job, so imagine my jaw on the floor when he (who is not at all what you would call “handy”) waxed eloquent about the various kinds of paint options for different paint jobs when someone mentioned doing some painting soon after we were married.
I loved the jokes from the listener letter today about how their series on Reflections Lodge needs to be measured in Tron Constructions as a unit of measure.
An 8-part series on a hotel that hasn’t even been built yet! ![]()
This was so accurate! Jim can drag a story out. Final installment broadcast from the TBD Lobby!
