This is the only reason I don’t ride it every opportunity. It’s not too bad compared to Star Tours, but it’s enough that one ride per trip is enough.

I find the queue more interesting than the ride, but with the right mix of people, it can be a blast. But I definitely prefer being engineer best so that I can observe all that is happening.
I haven’t done it since they updated it, obviously, but I am nervous that the additional duties of the engineer will make me enjoy it less.
I don’t care about the new scenes. I think if they wanted to improve it they need to make the game play aspect of it (not controls) more interesting. Having Mando show up doesn’t make it more interesting (to me).

There is more of this! You see different things even within the 3 locations depending on where you go. That was what got me excited - definitely not the new controls.

This was similar to our last experience—my sister and I were engineers and a couple in their mid 60s the pilots (maybe pilot and gunner? I’ve only ever been an engineer.) They had no idea what to do and we crashed hard over and over again. We were all laughing hard because it was so absurd and they couldn’t right the ship.
the same trip we were on RoTR with a similarly aged couple and the man spent the whole time in the queue talking about not being interested in the ride. Then it started and he said “HOLY SHIT” over and over and walked off saying it was the most amazing ride ever. Also memorable!

Haven’t yet been on it. 
I feel like this is a huge component. We had the whole cabin to ourselves last time and it felt more fun because we could yell and cheer with each other.
I think my kids will like it even more with the more relevant characters!
My question is, do we know which engineer picks the scene? I imagine families with more than one kid will have to strategically choose seating arrangements!
