Which weekend has higher crowds: the weekend after Thanksgiving (not including Thanksgiving itself) or President’s Day weekend?

Yes, thank you! I’m a paid member so did look at crowd calendars. I’m hoping to settle a dispute that my husband and I have about crowds :blush:

OK … then my crystal ball says President’s day weekend would have larger crowds because of:

  • Winter revenge
  • School systems Winter Break
  • Not a traditional family gathering weekend like Thanksgiving

Who gets the nod from this interpretation?

We’ve been to both weekends, and I remember President’s Day being more crowded than the weekend after Thanksgiving. I also love going when the parks are decorated for Christmas

President’s Day 2025 was more crowded than Thanksgiving 2024. You can also see it on the historical crowd calendar actual vs predicted. Thanksgiving is one of the best school holidays times to go in my experience.

I would try to avoid both, but if I had to pick one for lower crowds, I would choose the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Historically, crowds start decreasing on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and drop off the cliff on the Sunday.

We have been the weekend after Thanksgiving (just starting out a trip). The parks aren’t too bad. I think many people are heading home. Friday and Saturday are busier than Sunday. That Saturday I felt the crowds but nothing like those few days leading up to Thanksgiving.
Presidents day is very busy! I have only been (by accident) when Presidents Day fell in line with Mardi Gras break and it was a mad house. I will never go at that time again. I have been quite a few times during Mardi Gras break and will do that again. Presidents weekend… no thank you.

I really think it is. I’ve heard it compared to the crowds between Christmas and New Years. I’ve never been that late in December. The weather is MUCH nicer in late Nov in my opinion. And the whole property is decorated beautifully.

I’ve been to WDW Thanksgiving weekend.

I’ve been to DLR in mid October.

I’ve been to DLR after Xmas.

The BEST thing about all of the above?

rope dropping MK on a party day and then zigging to a non party park when others are zagging.

Seriously, best touring days ever!

Park is practically empty.

On a holiday weekend!

I can’t speak to Prez weekend, but I have been a happy holiday Disney person during the Halloween/xmas season.

The crowds around the Christmas holidays- not actually like Christmas or New Years.

Okay thanks— I saw on the calendar it had like 8s. Which is higher than other times we have been. Trying to get to festivaL of the arts. I guess we will consider the higher crowds during the time.
