The stupid marathon and the stupid non-Disney bus system completely screwed over the possibility of early entry on Saturday, and by extensionmade my Lines plan worthless. Also, i dont understand why Disney is so anal about offering you a place to charge your phone. Tried plugging in at Town Square Theatre and a cast member immediately ran out to tell me the outlets were off limits (the CMs at the Laugh Floor were much more generous).
Sunday at DHS was an improvement, but when you travel with people who don’t think ahead it prevents you from enjoying a full day. Check out Monday morning instead of trying to drive home late afternoon when you’re exhausted!
More than once they showed up either at the resort or at the park and I was stuck. They are awful- and the primary reason I dislike Disney transportation.
I’m going to completely guess that they discourage using general outlets because of the volume of use that might wear out those outlets more quickly - or if they are not GFC outlets they probably don’t want the general public using outside connections.
Plus the possibility of gumming up the foot traffic of the spot where those outlets are.
They do have various charging stations in the parks, even if not totally convenient.
I’d bet they have a more aggressive maintenance schedule on those charging stations.
Probably was me- hasn’t been a great couple of days- my apologies for any confusion. I thought you were referring to the charter type buses…
Over the last couple of years it seemed like every time I opted to use disney buses the ones that showed up were some sort of outside charter bus. I can’t manage the stairs on them and they have no accessible kneeling options or lifts. The regular Disney buses are fine- I learned I am just better off driving or renting a car.
Sometimes you can find an outlet in a restaurant by a table. I did that at CHH in December. While I ate the delicious gingerbread cake, I let my phone have some time on a charger.
On the topic of convenience, why do they only have one water bottle refilling location per park? Everyone carries some kind of bottle now, and Disney sells them everywhere. But you can only fill it from these ancient water fountains at an awkward angle with tepid metallic flavored water.
Yeah I had those charter buses show up at All stars, Hollywood Studios, and AK.
Never tried the transportation from Wyndham - we have been staying at the one at Bonnet Creek quite a bit the last few years. I understand that there is a shuttle- is that the one you used?
Is Bonnet Creek the one right next to the east exit from Disney Springs? Because thats the one ive stayed at twice now. At some point in either 2023 or 2024, they subcontracted a new private shuttle bus service “Fabulous Buses”. You have to reserve your seat on the bus in advance, so you risk not being able to get early entry. If you plan to stay until park close, you also have to reserve a seat in advance. However, no reservation needed if you want to return to the hotel earlier, though since there is only one bus per park (serving 3-5 hotels each) you have to wait an hour between visits.
I was forced to leave early, but i instead took the first bus returning to Saratoga and just walked back to the hotel from Congress Park.
On a related note, does anyone know why they stopped offering offering buses to Disney Springs from the parks two years ago?
