My wife brought up the idea of trying out Tambu Lounge to get the Noodles and Potsickers for dinner ahead of the Christmas party. I know Tambu doesn’t serve food until 4…and we weren’t planning to get into the party until 4:30 or 5:00 to miss the initial mad rush. So, my question…
How hard is it to get into Tambu Lounge…particularly so that we would be there slightly before 4 and order food right at 4?
And how long does service take there? If we order food at 4, do you think it would be possible to be into MK by around 5ish?
It’s been a while but on more than one occasion I have noticed a pretty long line on party days if people doing the same thing. Maybe have a back up plan.
This is a good point. Our original plan was to go into the park at 4:30 and grab a light dinner at Gaston’s (the sandwich thing there)…then the idea of trying out Tambu came to us.
I don’t think they have Captain Cook’s what he is looking for. Specifically the taboo lounge noodles and potstickers if I remember correctly.
The Captain Cook is nice option otherwise. I would add the caveat when it’s busy you can wait an exceptional amount of time to get your food. The last time that I was there in February, I think we waited over 40 minutes for our mobile order.
As mentioned, it was really just about trying out the noodles and potstickers we hear so much about. So, we would bus from Boardwalk to MK, the monorail to Poly to eat there. But while we want to avoid the initial mad rush of party-goers entering the park, we don’t also want to miss all of that pre-party park time. So getting in my 5 pm seemed reasonable.
In light of @ThorKat’s comment, we might abandon the idea and add the noodles and potstickers to our bucket list for another future trip. We’ll probably just go back to getting dinner at Gaston’s. (We don’t want a heavy dinner because we know we will be partaking in party snacks.)
Part of this is driven by out goal of a relaxed trip. If there is a line/wait at Tambu, we would then start to feel pressure as we get closer to 5 pm. Probably not worth it. Which is why we asked the question here to begin with. You all have smarts about these kinds of things!!
I’ve had to wait every time I’ve eaten at Tambu. If you wanted to be entering MK at 5:00, I don’t think you’d have time to get a seat at the bar, get food to you, eat, and then get to MK by 5:00, especially if you figure in 15 or so minutes for transportation. I don’t think it would be very relaxing if you were worried the whole time about whether or not you’d make it.
