I think for most people (including the person you were directing this to) the bus difference is really not a big deal.
I wish I could take advantage of that bc it’s basically what I’m paying for Pop.
But, with a child in a wheelchair, that extra transfer at TTC and extra walking is not something we want to do.
You are still at Pop?
For the moment.
I haven’t changed anything yet.
Looking at points rentals though. Had to discuss with hubs what we’d be interested in so if something pops up I can jump on it.
Hmm I wonder if any liners have points they’d be interested in renting…
The issue is that you are traveling at a time of the highest point booking of the year. A good discount might be cheaper.
Really? Cause I ran the numbers, and it didn’t play out that way. Maybe because the discount offer on dvc units isn’t the full 35%?
We were looking at Poly studios, it’s about $700 more to book with the discount offer.
Seems like there is a LOT of points for rent on both the rental sites and private renters like on the DIS. I was able to see more than a few discounted confirmed reservations and discounted points offers.
I meant a discount for another room. Your week is the highest week of the year (same as Christmas)for dvc.
Is the Poly 229 points?
Well, we decided to do the first few days at Pop, or switch those the days to ASM to give DS the Toy Story experience to save some cash, then move. It would be 136 points for Poly standard.
Also, we couldn’t find another room through Disney that we were ok with, design wise or price wise.
Ok, I am officially not messing with this reservation anymore, bc I have found the best solution to the dilemma.
I was able to modify my Pop Preferred 3/27-4/3 to ASMo Preferred 3/27-3/30, and picked up a points rental at $15/per point and booked Poly Studio Standard View for 3/30-4/3.
This way, DS can get the Toy Story experience for a few days at ASMo, and then we can move to a bigger, more relaxing resort so we don’t want to kill each other by the end of the week.
Since points rental is pretty final, I have booked myself into a corner so to speak, quite on purpose. Now I can stop obsessing over it!
$15 a point is a great deal.
Yes, it was from a gentleman from the UK who had multiple contracts expiring with no indication in sight that he would be able to get here. He had already borrowed them from next year when it looked like they might lift the travel restriction. (A friend of a friend )
And yes, we have a contract and I already have the reservation in my MDE.
It sounds like a doable plan to me.
And the walk is long to the lobby. Not worth if for me.
Pretty sure they’ve finished the renovation of them and they are all queen beds now. Which would make the room feel smaller since they didn’t do the murphy bed thing. But at least they are queen size beds now.
This thread made me go look. I hadn’t read this before:
That was us for most of our early trips. ASMo was perfect because my DS was young and loved the oversized icons. We had zero problems with the food courts or with transportation.
You know I might be willing to stay there. I think the shower back is cute. I really didn’t mind the family suite though but I wish they had done Mermaid ones. It was my fave childhood Disney movie and my dog is named Ariel cuz she’s a redhead.
I have never wanted to stay there BUT I kinda love that blue floor.
WOW. that is really good news. We loved the theming of AoA, but he beds were soooo uncomfortable, we wouldn’t go back. If they’ve upgraded the rooms (and beds), that could really change our plans for our next WDW visit. Thanks for sharing.
