Squeezing a little AK time into our trip

I planned to skip AK for our fall trip, but DS7 really wants to ride EE (he never has before) and DD10 wants one more ride on Dino before it closes so I’m trying to fit in a few hours at AK.

At AK we would only do EE, Dino and FOP.

I’m thinking a visit to AK during our EP day may make the most sense.

We will have LLMP and LLSP.

Here is what I am currently thinking, but you guys always have great ideas so I’m open to suggestions:

Prebook (Day 7+3): LLMP TT, Soarin’, Nemo LLSP Guardians and FOP.

EP: 10:30 am - 3:00 pm Soarin’ (LL), TT (LL), Guardians (LL), Nemo (LL if time), Three Caballeros, Meet Donald (if time), Meet Pluto (if time), Remy (not must do so only if we luck into same day LL). After first tap in, book late afternoon LL for EE and after second tap in book Dino,

Lease EP at 3:00 pm and drive to AK

AK: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm FOP (LL), Dino (LL), EE (LL)

Leave AK at 6:00 pm and drive back to EP

EP: 7:00pm-9:00pm Dinner, Nemo (LL - if we didn’t do earlier), Journey of Water, Meet Mickey and Friends, if time remains then Figment (LL).

Thoughts?

I’m not clear of your plans for the evening at Epcot. Are you having dinner first? If so, where?

Not sure if you’ll have time for dinner plus those rides in 2 hours.

You’re the one who helps ME out!

It looks good on paper and with the (if time) items allowing for wiggle room, it should work.

I guess the where for dinner and being willing to drop the last bits of EP if needed are the questions.

Then again. Will Nemo have any wait at 8PM? I’m wondering more about dinner than anything else.

You shouldn’t need an LL for Nemo. There aren’t many Tier 2s that need LLs. Mission Space and Soaring maybe. I wouldn’t go off schedule to wait to use a Nemo LL.
After first tap I would try to mod that Nemo LL to Remy or something at AK if you have no more ride plans at Epcot.

You may want to plan to leave Epcot a little earlier. Then you can leave AK earlier and not rush your Epcot evening plans.

Why aren’t you starting at AK?

It closes early and still have hours left to use?

My kids (DD10 and DS7) are more like grazers at WDW so DW and I go with the flow on it. We stopped making ADRs because the two of them did not like spending an hour or more of WDW time at a restaurant. So dinner at EP will mean grabbing something quick on the go from QS or FW kiosks. I think we can do that in 30-45 mins so that should leave time for attractions.

Good ideas. I agree.

I wish AK were open until 8 pm or 9 pm so we could stay at EP and leave a couple hours at the end of the day for AK, but obviously that won’t be the case. The previous night we will be at Epic until close and then driving back to BLT so the kids will get to bed late and sleep in. That’s why I’m planning on arriving at EP at 10:30 am (thought I’m hoping for earlier if the kids are up).

I planned to start at EP because with LLMP, we will need to prebook TT and we want to start churning LLs with a morning tap.

But I’m going to think about your suggestion. We could start at AK, do standby for EE and Dino (LLSP for FOP) and then head to EP to spend the rest of the day/evening. I will look into expected standby wait times for EE and Dino at AK around 10:30 am. My concern is that by 10:30, standby lines will be so long that we will spend more time in line then the time driving go back and forth from EP to AK to EP later afternoon with LLs.

Thought you meant Epic for a second :scream:

If it weren’t for the late night before, being at AK about 7:30 am puts you off FoP by 8:30, hot foot it to EE and then Dino. May not need any LLs at all.

Yes, that would be ideal. But with the late night at Epic, I expect the kids will get in bed around 11:30 pm so I’m not going wake them up early the next day.

Our WDW trips are short (this one 4 days) so we do a lot of running around, but 7:30 am RD after a late night is not feasible.

Wait a minute…

IS DINO STILL OPEN???

I agree with this assessment.
TT is the biggest issue here. Personally I would head to Epcot for TT, Guardians and maybe some food booths in that area. Mission Space and 3 Cabs if that’s on the agenda. This should eat up around 2 - 2.5 hours. Then hop a bus over to AK (unless you feel driving saves time). You should arrive closer to 1:30 (give or take a half hour), earlier if you can get to Epcot sooner. Make sure you set up your LLs to allow for an arrival 15- 30 mins ahead of schedule.
Strategy- Once you tap into TT you will have 3 LLs to grab. Remy for a later time should be a priority. Then I would work on Dino and EE. Once you tap into Dino you can search for Soaring and any others. If you can finish up AK by 4:30 that puts you back at Epcot for 5:30, tops. Then you can finish the other side of Future world (Soarin, Nemo, LwtL  if you have time) and work your way to Remy and WS for the evening.
Ideally, you should start at AK but getting a TT LL throws it all off base- unless y’all would consider single rider…

Still, lol. Till next year. I’ve ridden it for the last time 3 x’s already.

I’m enlightened.
It is not on my TP!
I am not going to tell my girls. They think it’s closed. Then I’ll surprise them.

Valid concern. I wasn’t sure if you could arrive any earlier than 10:30 (earlier, there very probably wouldn’t be problem with standby on EE or Dino).

DD10 would probably be ok with it, but not DS7 so single rider is a “no” for us. Good idea though.

Sneaky, but fun.

Ah, too young for my comfort, anyway. It’s not the kids I don’t trust though…

For sure.

If I WERE to do it (and I wouldn’t at that age), I would have one parent go FIRST, then the kids, then the other parent LAST. This way there is one parent on each “end” of the ride…one waiting as the kids get off, and the other waiting before they get on.

Closes in January 2026, I think.

Nice strategy!
