Spring Break Crowds (3/24-3/31)

Can anyone offer insight as to just how bad spring break crowds are? We’ve hit the phase where pulling kids out of school for more than a day is a big challenge (just too much homework to make up thanks to honors classes). Any suggestions for how to best manage a trip during this timeframe? I appreciate any advice!

I’ve had one of my best trips during spring break! Great weather, just a fabulous time. Was it crowded? Why, yes, it was. Did it matter? Not really to us. There was plenty of staff, and we did everything we wanted.

Nationwide, spring break has spread out. Years ago most school systems had break, the last week of March or Easter week. Now it seems that crowd levels are 8s, throughout March and April. That’s manageable with a touring plan, and patience.

Spring breaks are so spread out that I don’t think they have much of an impact unless its Easter week. I’ve been during various weeks in March and April and loved those trips. Weather is great and you’ll have the Flower and Garden Festival.

I think spring break trips that are bioth the last week of March and a week surrounding Easter get a bit of a double whammy on crowds. That said, we had a great spring break trip. Like others have said, great weather, Flower and Garden, longer MK hours make itn really nice. I highly recommend rope dropping, even if your family has typically moved to sleeping in. We rope droppes then took mid-day breaks.

I’m also going the week after Christmas, so clearly I am okay with crowded parks as long as the temps are reasonable.

For sure. It’s so much easier to tolerate crowds when it’s not 100 degrees.
