Hi!! Traveling with a party of 11, age ranges from 2yo to 66yo. Getting there this Saturday and leaving next Saturday. We got the Disney Meal plan…what is the best way to spend those snack credits? We are also doing 3 parties, can I use them there? What do you all recommend ?
We will be arriving the day that you leave, have a party of 8 from ages 2 to 74. We also have the dining plan.
My plan is to use snack credits on items that are over $6. A great use of snack credits is on items at the food kitchens for the Festival of the Holidays (non alcoholic). for EPCOT as well as ice cream at L’Artisan. Sundaes at The Plaza, the I lava You Float from Sunshine Tree Terrace will be on our list of snacks for MK as well as the cinnamon roll at Gaston’s Tavern…
I don’t know about snacks at the parties.
Use snack credits for the holiday food booths at Epcot.
My recommendation is a little different: use them on whatever sounds good to you in the moment. I don’t worry if it’s a good deal or not - that ship has sailed already - but instead about enjoying myself without reaching for my wallet. Which, to me, is what the dining plan was about (when we used it).
My favorite snacks include popcorn, Mickey ice cream SANDWICHES, dole whip, and yes things at the food booths in Epcot. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve even had a bottle of water as a snack before
I also do like using snack credits for light breakfast items, like pastry or yogurt.
Rarely do I hear of people who spent all their snack credits before their trip was over. More often I hear about people buying up silly things at the last minute to take home just to avoid leaving credits on the table.
With the change to 1 snack per day and no sharing DDP credits across people, do/how do the total snack credits left show up on your account?
In the before days, I remember reading here that the parties total number of credits showed up for everyone and were useable (and maybe a story from @DeepInTheHeartofTexas dad used most of their snack credits on Diet Coke that way?). Can you still “spend” other snack credits for those in your party? I know the answer for meals is no and it is person-specific. But snacks?
I have been toying with DDP for our upcoming trip, but more for the challenge of making it worth it (I need better/less expensive hobbies LOL). The decrease to 1 snack a day bums me out, but I would consider it if we could pool credits to get snacks in Epcot. Does the person whose credits are being used need to be there? Or do I just tell the person who scans my MB whose credit to take? I control the profiles for my family, if that makes a difference (DH does not have his own account).
Interesting. I thought that with 3 adults on my plan, it would show as 42 TS, 42 quick service, and 42 snacks for the room.
My plan is to leave no credits behind.
No idea
That’s funny! Oh, dads. Wasn’t mine tho!
I’m a coffee loving person and if you are you could once upon a time use a snack credit for any size beverage at Starbucks. I don’t know if this still holds true.
I have heard that is still true. Get the largest coffee for a snack credit.
Blue and green milk are good uses of snack credits I remember!
Is this something they are actively tracking? I feel like it’s always been the rule.
Water was always a snack credit in warmer months
With bottomless pit teens I’ve used snack credits to stretch a qs meal credit, like egg rolls at Yak n Yeti. Or if a combo qs meal is being shared among a couple of light eaters and one other, maybe add an order of fries.
I’d be interested if snack credits are not shared any more
