SignUp questions!

Hello!

2026 is going to be the year! I would like to sign up for the 5k food and wine.

When do the sign ups come out?

My husband and 2 older kids would also like to run it. Can I sign up 4 at one time?

I’m really excited to sign up as I have been on a big health journey. I think accomplishing this will be a great celebration.

Thanks for your help!

This year registration opened in early February for the Wine and Dine races…all 4 of them (5K, 110K, Half, Two Course) open at the same time - which makes the queues on registration morning frustrating.

I don’t have experience with signing up more than one person at the same time…maybe @ThorKat or @OBNurseNH has done it?

Running (or walking) a Disney race is an amazing way to celebrate a health journey…other than the very early wake up, it is just kind of a magical event. And Wine&Dine has a post race party at Epcot that I think is pretty fun stuff, if you can make room in the budget…though it has been a couple of years for me. I believe @tiggerpal and @DumboRunner did Post Race this year?

I’m excited for you!

Oh gosh it was so long ago! I think I remember I registered me first then DH so it wasn’t exactly at the same time but I didn’t have to get in the queue again.

My advice is get logged in to the rundisney site at least 30 minutes before it opens because they go fast!!

@DumboRunner is the real pro so maybe she can give more advice :crossed_fingers:

On registration, you can register multiple people but you have to enter the information for each one at a time, which can mean that by the time you click to complete the process the slots will be gone. SO if you are going to do this have ALL of the information for ALL of your party ready to go. The 5k is the most popular of runDisney races each registration, so it sells out fast, unfortunately.

I think there are helpful videos of the process online that people have posted so you can practice/be aware.

On the post-race party, you can buy tickets, I think they were $120-ish per. I (and @tiggerpal ) did not have to buy tickets because if you run the half marathon (or the Challenge which includes the half) you get a party ticket included.

I would add that the 10k is easier to get into. I know that sounds like a very long route, but it is very, very walk/run or full walk friendly so perhaps consider it!

Thanks everyone!! This is great info. I’ll definitely look at some videos so I know what to expect. I have been thinking about this for years— next year would be perfect timing. Hoping we can get in!

Once you’re in, you’re in and you can do as many registrations as you need/want

It will be important to prioritize things based on the events that everyone you are registering is wanting to do.

For example, when my DH and I did W&D last year, we both wanted to do the 5K, we both wanted to do the 10K, and I wanted to do the half. I registered myself first for the two course challenge, and then him for the 10K, and I put us both in the 5K as my last. My rationale was this:

  • I definitely wanted to do the two course challenge - so that was priority 1
  • if he didn’t get into the 10K he was not going to be devastated
  • 5K was actually a last minute decision based on swedish chef medal, but not at all crucial to mission.

You’ll want to think about what the priority(priorities) should be for your group

This is good to know— so when I log in to sign up I’ll be able to do the 4 of us for the 5 k.

Do you submit them all together or one at a time?

If we aren’t all able to get in I think we would just try for a future race….

This

You wont know until you know though.. :grimacing:

This is good to know.

Does the 5k sell out that fast typically?

Very fast

Oh boy so I Might not get all of us in.

It’s a possibility which is why I think @DumboRunner recommended considering the 10K which takes longer to sell out.

Thank you! That makes sense— will have to see if we will be up for a 10k!

Just thinking of an alternative.

If we sign up with a charity- has anyone done that?

I think raising money for a charity my family supports would also be a nice addition to our race.

I have done that. I ran for Alex’s Lemonade Stand back in ?2018 for the 10K. There are a list of participating charities somewhere on the runDisney page, and each organization will have different bibs to offer. You agree to raise money, and if you don’t you pay the difference. But it’s a great way to get a guaranteed bib and especially if it matches your values.

Great- maybe I’ll Look into that too.
