We start a trip Jan 16 2022 - I’ve checked crowd predictions and it’s 8/10 for sun, mon, tues then drops for the rest of the week. Should I push the trip back a week because of this? I’d have to switch hotels which I would prefer not to do. Is this holiday weekend a deal breaker for anyone?
If you are able to push the trip back a week, I would absolutely do it to have less crowded days.

That is actually Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Presidents’ Day is in February.
You could always push back a week, but from what my TA is saying, things are going to be crowded no matter when you go because people are ready to travel.

If I could avoid a holiday weekend I would. But if I can’t, I’m sure it would still be fun.

We did MLK a few years ago and are doing it this upcoming year. It is definitely busy, but with a plan and FPP, we were fine. We do it for the days off (I’m a teacher). So it’s worth it to us. If you have the flexibility, could be worth it, but with races and holiday weekends. Jan and Feb aren’t particularly slow at any point.
