We have 320 resale Bay Lake Tower points and are debating about selling now(ish) and buying the minimum direct for direct “benefits”, primarily to stay and newer resorts. We want to come as close as possible to breaking even and getting as close as we can to our current point amount (which we’d do by buying 150 direct and whatever resale we can with what’s left).
Has anyone else flipped their resale for direct? Any words of wisdom? Things you wish you knew?
Yes, I’ve got one with 320 for BLT and one for 150 with Boulder Ridge. I’d love to split up the big contract and possibly reduce slightly our overall point quantity.
Seeing the new price difference betweem the Sourcer’s annual pass and the Incredipass, if you ever buy APs that price savings couls close the gap quickly.
I am also thinking about selling a resale contract and buying direct, so I don’t think it is ctazy!
Just a note that you could only book the new resorts with the direct points. The “benefits” in that regard wouldn’t extend to the resale ones. But maybe all you want is the 150 to use at new resorts and the rest for OG resorts. Thought it was just worth clarifying.
I closed on selling my BLT contract a month ago and no regrets so far! Being able to use my points anywhere was the biggest selling point for me to buy direct instead. And it’s definitely nice that the points show up in your account almost instantly compared to buying resale.
Do any of you have a direct guide you’d recommend? I don’t have one and don’t want to do a general request to DVC (unless that is actually the way to go and I just don’t know).
