We are arriving tomorrow for our first stay as DVC owners. I talked to a MS CM over the phone today to find out if I could request an electric tea kettle on my reservation. She put the request in, but she told me that as a DVC Member staying on points, the resort will not honor requests for any extras during our stay such as extra bedding items (blankets, pillows, etc.). Is this true?
I have never had an issue with requesting things such as extra blankets when staying on points. Not sure why they would said that.
No it is not true.
I often ask housekeeping for extra pillows, blankets, coffee, cups, towels…. lately I just do this through the “hey Disney”. That MS rep is wrong.
Ask for nothing you need!
Are you staying in a 1 bed or larger room? I would assume it’s the same as this disclosure on some rooms and would guess MS is required to say it.
Oh, I see what she was talking about. Thanks!
That is … bizarre.
Oh good call out
But heck request all the non-bedding stuff you want!
I always ask for extra kitchen items - a kettle, extra frying pan and pots! Never had a problem. Although I usually get a kettle for the stove, not an electric one.
The CM was 100% wrong!
Thanks all!
Wow. I have never been told no with requests like that.
Question: does housekeeping know how many guests are staying in each room and if you are staying cash or points?
I would imagine they have the information readily available
I don’t think they do, as such. They are told which rooms need servicing, so if the same housekeeper is doing your section each day they could probably work it out.
But we had times when they forgot to change the sheets on the sofa bed - because we had put it back up. We had to ask for clean sheets and make it ourselves.
Someone had that info, but not necessarily the actual housekeepers.
My experience suggests they don’t. They just get given a printed list of room numbers that need to be serviced.
Otherwise, if they knew there were 4 of us, they must have realised the sofa bed needed to be done.
That has been my experience as well.
When I have called from some rooms, for example CCV, I have had to explain I was calling from CCV and needed coffee for the DVC coffee pot, not the pods. The person on the other end of
phone did not know what type of room I was in. Sometimes they even ask what resort I am in.
I do agree with @OBNurseNH that I am sure someone has that info but I am not confident that any CM that provides e tra bedding would be included on that list.
