Rope Raising....any tips?

QQ for you since you did a 9:40 Oga’s - we have that same time slot. What did you do between 9:00 - 9:40? Did you have any issues with cast members trying to usher you out of the park at all?

We Rope Dropped MK once last week and it worked out fairly well with an 8AM open. We got held at the hub towards AdventureLand and then again just after the cut through to Liberty Square, but effectively walked on Big Thunder. Relatively short wait for Splash (~10 minutes) and then basically walked on Pirates and had a short wait for Haunted (~15) - think we were able to walk on Small World after that still and did Mickey’s Philharmagic as well in the morning…

Our strategy of 2 headliners and then some of the secondary rides likely worked in our favor.

With MK closing at around 10PM it is a little tougher to out last the crowds than some years, but we were able to hit Buzz & People Mover as walk-ons effectively near fireworks when both had ~40 minute waits earlier that day. So there is definitely some good value to be had late at night as well…

DS and I arrived at MK this past Sunday at 9:07 with a 9:00 official opening. We walked right through security and right through the taps and we were at Splash at 9:21. Walked right through line and onto ride. Once off of Splash, many wait times were increasing so we opted to get cinnamon roll at Gaston’s and then ride Under the Sea. We took pictures and did some shopping and left the park around noon. We came back with DH around 4:45 and hit Pirates which was a walk on. Just beat the tropical downpour to eat supper at Pinocchio Haus. Once the rain let up we rode Small world with no wait, Philharmagic no wait, Buzz Lightyear no wait, Space with a 45 minute wait, Speedway with about 5 minute wait, Tea Cups no wait. Just as HEA was starting at 9:15 we went to 7DMT with a FIVE minute wait-posted wait on sign was 60 minutes. We were on the ride during fireworks which was AMAZING! We then got right back in line just as fireworks were ending and walked right back on for a second ride. We ended the night with HM with a wait of about 2 minutes.

We rode MFSR just before 9, so we were out of there by 9:15 or so. Then, we hung out in the courtyard in that area for a few minutes. We could check in at Ogas just a few minutes later. So we didn’t have much time to wait really. But I will say there were all kinds of people just hanging out in Galaxy’s Edge (many playing light sabers. . .) and no one was being rushed out. Even as we were leaving closer to 10:30, we still didn’t feel rushed out. Part of what I was looking forward to was the quiet park after hours, and that was really nice.
