Rope drop SDD or MMRR?

I’m building a plan for HS and TP is saying go to MMRR then SDD. Thrill Data shows the waits for SDD climb way up immediately at park opening, so I feel like this is backwards. Which way should I go?

I think I remember having to add a “break” during EE because TP can’t account for short times during rope drop?

Would you be able to get a LL for SDD? We rope dropped MMRR and then did TSMM before using our LL for SDD and it went so quickly.

If I was getting G+, then I would RD MMRR or TSM. If I was not getting G+, then I would RD SDD.

SDD

MMRR is manageable for a bit after opening but SDD will get long immediately and stay long all day

Yes place a break and then add your RD attraction

This. If you’re getting G+ then the less-stressful RD is MMRR, and with BG1 you can easily get an SDD LL for park open. Depending on crowd levels, you could probably even still do standby TSMM and then hop on SDD with your LL (then you can ride TSMM again later with a LL).

But if you don’t have G+ then definitely go for SDD first.

Thanks, I forgot about that BG option to grab an early SDD LL!

The wait times will climb quickly for SDD if you are not at the front of the rope drop crowd.

If you are staying onsite and can enter the park during early entry, plan to be at the park over an hour before opening to day guests and 45 minutes before the announced early entry. Main reason for this is HS often opens rides 30 minutes prior to announced early entry time, basically giving resorts guests an hour to tour before the gates are open to the masses.

I did this this past summer. EE was scheduled for 8:30, but they let us in at 8:00 (I was at the gates at 7:30, having gotten the first bus from All-Star Music). We made a bee-line to Rise with a 15 minute posted wait time and walked straight into Rey’s room without stopping. After getting off Rise, the posted wait time was an hour. We then went straight to SDD to see a posted wait time of 15 minutes. We waited maybe 10, rode, got off, and that posted wait time had then grown to an hour. So we had rode the parks two super headliners in less than an hour, and day guests were just now being let in! They all went to the super headliners, and we stayed in front of the pack, going to MF:SR and walking straight to two pilot’s chairs with a 20 minute wait and stayed ahead of the crowd for the rest of the day.

I honestly much prefer to ride SDD in the dark, so I try and leave it for the end of the night.

It’s so much better at night with all the lights.
