Hi everyone! So excited for my trip in February, and my first stay at a Disney resort!! 64 days!
Staying at Pop Century - standard room. Any advice/suggestions for room request? Either specific to Pop or just in general?
Hi everyone! So excited for my trip in February, and my first stay at a Disney resort!! 64 days!
Staying at Pop Century - standard room. Any advice/suggestions for room request? Either specific to Pop or just in general?
For Pop! I would 100% request Building 4 or 5. The standard rooms there are right by the skyliner and so close to the lobby.
I also recommend the 1st floor because it saves walking, but some people don’t like the first floor for critter and safety reasons. I always want 1st floor.
In geneal, I think the best thing to do is make sure you staye what your want. Level of specificity is up to you. For Pop, any room near the skyliner will also be fairly close to the lobby. But the reverse is not true.
I recommend asking for a specific room - like room 4153, but then erasing the rest of the TP automatic language. I say something like - top priority is near skyliner, ideally in building 4 or 5.
TBH, I have terrible luck requesting Pop rooms. But the front desk is amazing about reassigning you. So of you hate your room location, you can go to the desk and ask if they have anything similar to what you describe above.
Just stayed here beginning of the month. This is my post from my room results
Fantastic! Being close to Skyliner is 100% the goal.
Thank you I would not know which room to ask for. Should I list multiple room like this one?
Thank you for this tip!! I wouldn’t have had the boldness to go up to them without this
Gave it all a read! Thank you!! This is so good. Mentally prepared to get a room somewhere else on Pop and then just hope a quick convo fixes that!
Is there a difference of doing it in person vs on the phone? In my head, it would let me do it possibly an hour ish sooner immediately when we land. Maybe that way hope to beat some people to it?
We’ve had decent results at Pop using the TP room request feature, but even better results asking at the front desk when we arrive. On the few times we asked to change to a closer room, they were always very accommodating! Usually we like the top floor (less noise) but recently I had injured my knee and was using a cane, and they were very happy to give me a ground floor room in a closer building.
Pop seems fairly compact, as long as you’re in the 50’s, 60’s, or 70’s sections. They only have one bus stop, and each park has its own queue for orderly loading.
I used the phone. You can call 407-938-4050 and they can connect with you the front desk/ room
Assignor. I would add that you need to be close to the resort though. Maybe 30 minutes out will help. That way they can address it since you are basically on/near the property.
I agree! Not only is the 50s section my favorite it’s super close to everything you need but much quieter than 60s. All of the buildings in that section are fine but I generally ask to be on the lake side. This puts you closer to the Skyliner.
Yes! This. They have a lot of rooms. If you get there earlier you get a room that is ready. There are plenty that are being clean though. So if you go to the front desk they can really work to get you somethings ng closer to what you want if you are willing to wait.
You may not be assigned a room by then.
ETA: I was mixing up Bldg 3 and Bldg 4. I request Bldg 3.
I loved building 4 (only lakeside are standard) because it takes me right by the pool bar which has coffee in the mornings, and is way quieter than five. But 3 amd 6 lakeside are great too!
