I had recorded the start of our trip as 8/13. That is when our trip starts, however we aren’t staying onsite until the 17th. I didn’t even think of that being a problem until I did a fax request and saw that it was done 10 days before staying on property.
Won’t that be too early? Will they just throw the fax away?
They probably will chuck it.
So, make a new trip with the first day as 8/17 and make a new request for your room.
Can’t you edit the trip?

Editing is entirely possible.
Go to dashboard.
Under the title of your trip, dates, resort, room request is an “EDIT” button.
Click that and a box appears in which you can change the start and end dates of your trip.
Tah dah.
