Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Data

I want to be there right now!

Has anyone been successful getting boarding passes with Disney wifi?? I have no data!!

I was practicing trying to get a BG from home this morning, and I can tell you that at 8:00:30, they were in to backup BG’s.

My parents got a glitch then group 109 at 8:02am today. Also the ride seems to be having issues; only up to group 45 at 4pm.

People were on WiFi at the park that got boarding groups around me. One reason to not want to be on it would be latency issues with so many people potentially being on it.

I used cell service, and to try and up my phones responsiveness I made sure to close all my background apps. I also went into my phone settings and disable any app from using data in the background.

Yes. First two times I was on wifi. BG 15 & 16. I was near The Market outside TSL.

Thanks!

My method was to sit on the page and hit my status the second the phone time changed. Used both my wife and my phone as the previous day I had an issue and she was not in my list of friends to select… which caused me to panic a bit and pushed to BG 47.

We both closed all apps and turned off background data. Our phones were pretty in sync at 8:00. My status -> couple seconds of loading (felt like 30 seconds), and we were both adding each other to a boarding group. She beat my confirm in a fraction of a second.

This morning from the DC area, starting at 7:59:50, I was refreshing the page after you hit “My status” and nothing turned red until 30 seconds after 8:00…and they were all gone.

yes. but maybe don’t rope drop. if your position in a queue has poor reception. move. we had great wifi outside Chinese Theatre and my son got BG6 on it

Tomorrow, try pushing the back arrow from the My Status page instead of trying to refresh the page, and see if that works better.

I did both last Saturday and ended up with BBG 81 because I just could not get the Join Boarding Group button to light up. After pulling down to refresh the My Status page at least 6 or 7 times and not getting the button to light up, I got nervous and hit the back button two or three times. My DH was standing right beside me doing the same thing and having the same results, but finally as it drew closer to 8:01 he was able to get in and join a BBG. We did end up getting to ride around 4 pm so it all worked out fine, but it was very nerve wracking, I suspect the issue may have been either our phones (we both have the same phone - Samsung Galaxy S8+), or because of the fact that we were standing in the mass of people waiting to enter Galaxy’s Edge in front of the tunnel.

All my attempts have been hitting the “my status” button and not with the pull down refresh method. 3 attempts I found the following (I only tried in the park).

Attempt 1 ( attempting to get a late BG) - I hit my status according to time.gov at park opening, join boarding group was active. I clicked the link 25 seconds (gamble… I saw the day before had 3 mins for BG to fill) later and got group 54.

Attempt 2 (attempting to get first BG) - I hit my status according to my phone changing to park opening instead of timing to time.gov. Join boarding was active, but I could NOT select my entire party. I had people missing in the list… I panicked and went all the way back to the my status page to hit the bording group and try again (still wasn’t there), got group 47. Talked to guest services when BBG were closed, they immediately added my wife to BG 47 with me.

Attempt 3 - because of previous fears… get anyone with a cell phone to try with you. Both me and my wife waited until park opening, hit my status as closely together as we probably could. I had a 3 second delay at a white page with a spinning arrow, she had a 2 second, and got us in BG2.

I think the best chance for success is getting as many people as have cell phones trained up. It’s helpful in big groups if you can clean up your friends and family list so you can use the select all button.

Just as some more information. I saw cast members each day suggesting the closing and reopening of the app 5 mins prior, but also telling people to be in the home screen and hit “find more information” button at park opening. The one time I went to guest services to get my wife into BG 47 with me, they unprompted asked me if she was on the page pulling down to refresh and missed it that way. Take that also with a grain of salt, but that member seems to of seen that method not work enough to ask.

Our BG2 day, we were at the toy story side, and they were trying something new where only half the walkway was being used to line people out… in effect spreading us all out twice as much then by Bantu day.

My Bantu day had kids crying, parents screaming… my toy story day I didn’t hear much negative commotion.

Thank you!! Great to know all of that.

I just saw this tip, thank you! This morning, practicing again, I waited until exactly 8 before hitting “my status” and when I did that, “Join boarding group” was immediately available to push.

p.s. I do plan to have my husband trying on his phone, and my travel agent trying from her home in Oklahoma!

Yesterday not a good day. Today BBG were gone before 8:01

At this rate, by the time I go in May, you’ll have 5 seconds to obtain a BG, and they will manage to get through 10 BGs for the entire day.

I thought they were supposed to be improving operation over time. Of course, the genie is out of the bottle now, but this ride was clearly not ready for prime time.
