and hoped he wouldn’t notice ![]()
I had to look it up but Avis at MCO has been an issue for multiple liners. The most common issue has been claims of damage months after the car was returned. Just an FYI
Avis and budget are on my “never again” list. Too many problems.
Avis owns Budget. They also own Payless and Zipcar
I avoid the entire umbrella. It’s hard navigating those corporate behemoths sometimes, but I try my best!
Does any body else think that the ether listens??? Now my DH has been reading about rental car issues and I’ve had to change all our reservations to enterprise and spend A LOT more for the honor ![]()
It’s not the ether lol.
A bunch of the Hertz prices went way up overnight. I’m not sure if they are trying to push a FOMO button of mine, or what. I think they’re going to sink back down.
Though, with all the negative publicity that Hertz has been getting lately with UVeye, I would not be completely opposed to finding another rental company. The reports are that it’s not yet installed at MCO, but Hertz is very aggressively getting them installed.
I have a short weekend trip next month. My intermediate Alamo booking is $35 more today than two months ago. It might go down in the next month but I am beginning to think the price 3 months ago might be the lowest price.
My little bit of research was that 2 months to go should’ve been the best price. That would be in about a week and OOPS!
I found a site that seems to have some kind of link with Alamo? The site is Dutch? I’m not sure if there are any rules for an American renting a car from a Dutch website. Like could they deny it and then make me start over and charge me whatever they feel like?
My 48hr Alamo rental just went down $20! The reservation is less than a month out, and it’s gone down a total of $25 since the 30 day mark. I’m considering going extra thrifty and downgrading from an intermediate to an economy to save another $7 ![]()
Thanks for the reminder to check. I’ve been so focused on the B&B ressie failure situation that I forgot about checking my things (including rental car) today
No change as yet (well since the lone price drop quite some time ago). I am 34 days out
Thanks! Although my price only dropped $2, it is the first drop in a long time and finally under $100 for my 48 hour trip.
I feel like $100 is a great threshold for a short trip because Uber/Lyft will get you right in that range with tip, round trip.
Hooray!
I’m at $93 for the economy or $100 for the intermediate. I anticipate two trips in the car only, so that $7 savings seems reasonable.
Historically my ride share costs have been right at $90- $100 round trip. So definitely would prefer my own ride for that same amount. Even stopping at Publix for some coffees and snacks would put the $100 car into the positive income column.
Exactly. That’s why I aim for $100 ![]()
I rebooked my intermediate at $99.51 but I might go back and grab the compact at $95. Thanks!
The bougie in me wants the nicer car. The miser wants the $7 ![]()
