Remy and Frozen strategy

DH and I are going to Epcot on Sunday Dec 22nd. Try to determine the best strategy for Remy’s and Frozen. Here are my two thoughts. We will be rope dropping and getting in at 8:30 am. When we rope drop we are always on the first or second ride. Here are my two thoughts.

Rope drop Remy’s from international gateway and then go to Frozen
or
Rope drop Frozen and use the single rider line for Remy’s?

If the best option is to rope drop Frozen, is it better to enter from the main gate or from the international gateway?

Soaring would be our other priority for first thing that morning.

If you are really at the head of the pack for Remy’s during ETPE, then doing Remy’s from the IG, and then booking it over to Frozen works well. You can JUST get ahead of the regular arrivers. (When we did it in September, we were literally walking in the Frozen queue after having ridden Remy at precisely the time the gates for off-site guests opened, and we didn’t even really “book it”.)

The trouble is…sometimes Remy has a late opening. It has happened to us. And when that happens, the plan ends up back-firing.

Six to one, half dozen to the other. We’ve seen it happen where the IG guests ended up being BEHIND the main gate guests. But we’ve also seen it where the IG guests are ahead. It just kind of depends on the day, and how accurate the CMs will be at each of the ropes. In either case, even if the main gate guests get ahead of you coming from the IG, the NUMBER of guests who get ahead of you will probably be somewhat insignificant in terms of wait time, so I wouldn’t worry about it either way.

We had a LL for Remy, but had a single rider join us in the car. We asked him how long he waited, and I think he said about 5 minutes. So you can keep that option in your back pocket.

This is good to hear. Touring plans say’s Frozen will be a 31 minute wait if we do it after Remy’s. Hopefully it will be a little shorter, abut it is Christmas week.

I agree! If it’s two adults then just pop in the SR queue. That’s how I did it last week and it was basically a walk-on

Are you staying on-site? I’m assuming you are RD for Early Entry with my answers below. I’m also assuming you are not purchasing LLMP.

I would do this. And then head right over Soarin’.

I would go with the main gate.

If you are staying at a skyliner resort, be in line at the skyliner for early entry by 7-7:15. You’ll be let into Epcot via the International Gateway before 8:00. Last December we were held by CMs at the entrance to France at 8:02. We were boarding Remy right at 8:30. After Remy we walked to Frozen via Italy/Germany route (headed that way at 8:38) and we were off Frozen at 9:05. We then headed to Soarin around 9:15.

This method has worked for me five times so far.

Yes we are staying on-site and will RD for Early Entry. The park opens at 9, so early entry is 8:30. We will be at the International Gateway by 7:30. We have done this many times in the past and it works great. We normally go straight to Remy’s then to Soaring and we get a multi-pass for Frozen. This time we are not getting the multi-pass.

ryan1, when you did this how long was the wait at Frozen?

I don’t remember, precisely. I think it was about 20 minutes, give or take.

We were NOT at the front of the pack at Remy, though. We were there early, but still had maybe a 10 minute wait at Remy? If we had been closer to the front of the pack, we could have been on and off Remy sooner. I’m not sure how much that would have shortened the wait on Frozen, though, since most of the people we were in line behind at Frozen were those who rope-dropped Frozen instead of Remy for early entry.
