Only 25 days out! I am finalizing my plans and was excited to see extra evening hours offered at AK on 8/20. My family of 4 was planning to RD AK that day but now I’m wondering if I can accomplish just as much with a late arrival (1ish) if I plank to stay through extra evening hours? FOP, EE, NRJ, KRR, and Safari are must-do’s for us and I plan to purchase LLSP for FOP. We also need some time to enjoy the walking paths and I’d like to see the Flight of Feathered Friends show and we have an ADR (Rainforest Cafe) at 5:00. Is all of this achievable with the extra evening hours or would you recommend sticking to the original plan of RD?
I would do both, with a nice long midday resort break. I love summer mornings at AK when it’s still a bit cooler and shady. And I also wouldn’t miss nighttime in Pandora with the bioluminescence, and Tree of Life projections. So morning + evening sounds perfect!
The walking trails, Safari and probably Kali will close early - maybe at 5/6 pm.
So I would double check times of those, plus the Bird show. You’d need to start with those, have your meal and then hit the main rides afterwards.
I am planning on arriving late on the 6th (probably around 2) and can report back on how it goes. We are not doing the trails, paths, or flights of feather friends - just grabbing dinner at Satu’li and we have LL for FOP, KS, KRR, and EE before the extra evening hours.
Sounds great- thanks!
So we ended up skipping extra hours since we got everything done we wanted to do with LL and we opted to rest at the hotel before doing AH as HS. We arrived earlier than we expected to the parks (1 pm) and were able to move our LL around and so did Safari, picked up a dinosaur LL, do Everest, watch the bird show (not planned but we had the time), KRR, Dinosaur, FoP, and then ended the night at Satu’li.
I don’t know what was happening with flights of passage last night but we entered the queue around 4:50 and didn’t get out of the ride until 5:45. We were worried we would not be able to get dinner, but got to the restaurant just in time.
It was lightning so that took down Everest. Here were the times when we left the park.
