Was able to take a 1-day trip to DLR on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Park Hopped and got LLMP. Even though it was a busy day, still got in over 20 rides utilizing LL drops, rope drop and timing when we got in lines. Started in DCA then spent rest of the time in DL. Here’s what we got in
That was the last day of our trip - we were there too! You definitely outdid us in # of rides, that’s some efficient LL use! We were back and forth, tapped into each park twice, logged 11+ miles that day and closed out DCA with RSR. It was a beautiful day, hope you had a great time!!
I’m glad to know they didn’t go as we opted to close out DCA instead of trying to see the fireworks our last night. I have never successfully “seen” a fireworks show in Disneyland despite several tries. We were there 5 days and crowded in to see it the first day and it was cancelled. Saw the fireworks from our hotel, DCA and Adventureland the next 3 nights. Was going to try to see it the last night but DD wanted to do things in DCA so we didn’t. I figured there is always YouTube.
To answer your question, I think it’s often atmospheric wind that causes cancellation. Too bad you missed fireworks, but looks like you had an incredible day regardless. We really enjoyed carnation cafe, and the quesobirrio tacos in Sanfransokyo were amazing! What did you get there?
We went with the Karaage Chicken sandwich, Birria Ramen and Yaki Udon. My one son, went with Chili in a bread bowl. Everything was great! I was a little underwhelmed by the options at Carnation Cafe this time, but food was still great (as well as atmosphere).
This is very much the reason. The air on the ground isn’t the issue, it’s even very mild winds up at the point where the biggest blasts denoate. Because Anaheim is a residential area immediately behind the parks, there is very little room for error for them and so while it’s pleasant and even still on the ground, if anything higher up is blowing the direction that they absolutely must avoid (north) then they can’t set them off.
If you look up and pay attention to the sky the few minutes before (5 to 15m) you’ll see a small test balloon get sent up, and if you see it & that starts heading towards Toontown and quickly, they will not be able to run fireworks.
