Don’t. Start.
Watermelon only barely bothers me (as in, I can consume it, but prefer not to because it makes me feel weird). But cantaloupe is pretty bad for me. I’m told this is because cantaloupe is related to ragweed, and I’ve got a pretty high intolerance for ragweed. Other melons also affect me, but not quite as strongly. Cantaloupe is so bad that even if I just consume something that was mixed with cantaloupe, the juices are enough to make me react pretty badly. Cucumbers are another thing that I generally avoid, but more on par with watermelon.
That’s a nice poncho (love the color coordination with the mask). Is it an Amazon special? Any particular brand?
How about avocado? I know a lot of people who are allergic to banana are also allergic to avocado.
I don’t eat avocado by itself, but so far, guacamole has never bothered me.
Columbia I think. When I take it back out later I’ll check
What are you doing to keep your glasses from fogging?
My son is allergic to banana and we were told to avoid avocado and kiwi as well as latex
Nothing but those adhesive bendy strips we’ve talked about before!
The fact that you have pretty large lens frames is a big help. For me, with the glasses I wear, I can’t really get the glasses to rest on top of the mask as is recommended to help reduce fogging. The bottom of my lenses don’t even come close to touching my face. It looks like you have plastic frames without the nose pad thingies that keep the frames further away from your face.
Well you certainly kept this trip under your hat! I’m away from the forum for a couple of days and missed the beginning. Thank goodness for Facebook! I hope you are having a blast. I’m quite incredibly jealous.
Lovely way to start the day.
You were on the bus before I was awake

I like everything. Go crazy!
Interesting. I once read in an article (and the condition has a name) that fruits/vegetables that grow where other plants are pollinating that cause allergies (such as ragweed or oak pollen, etc.) can get the pollen of the surrounding plants in their skin as they grow. So while the eating of the apple itself isn’t what causes the allergy, the pollen in the skin from the oak for example is actually what is causing the allergic reaction. I think this might be the case with DH because apple skins and grape skins can be an issue for him but a peeled apple often doesn’t affect him at all.
At last!!! ![]()
