Pre-DCL Solo Staycation - Day 1

11/25: Flight was at 12:07pm into MCO & left on time. Terminal C at MCO was not as packed as I thought it might be. Caught an empty shuttle to near baggage claim which was nice & I would say my luggage came out about 20 minutes later. I did not have the patience for Mears & got a Lyft. Was at Port Orleans French Quarter in 30-35 minutes. Smooth ride & great driver! Check-in was a breeze. Changed my room from River to Standard ($240 savings). Room assigner gave me a HUGE sprinkle of pixie dust & was assigned 5116!! Corner room, 2 windows, 2 queen beds, tub/shower combo. One window faced the pool & the other faced the river!!! Unpacked then took the boat to Disney Springs & headed to Blaze (pre-ordered) to grab a pizza then back to the resort to eat & relax. Early night as I’d been up since 4am.

A couple of cons to this room is that it’s right across from the pool so during the day with the loud music playing definitely a higher noise volume and the other con is it’s right near the smoking area

That’s a nice location though! My room was right near that spot when I stayed there last year and it was great!

Enjoy!

I’ve really enjoyed the proximity to everything!! Being a solo trip which is why I love about the French Quarter is that it is small and compact and very well lit, which does make me feel very safe. It is a quick walk from the boat and not a bad walk to the main building, food court and buses.
