Pop or French Quarter?

I currently have a reservation for a relaxing staycation thanksgiving week at the French Quarter, but Pop is now available for $400 less. I am not going to any parks and this is a solo trip, spending most of the time either at Disney Springs or resort, hopping to see the holiday decorations. If this was you, would you change the reservation to Pop or just stay where you are at the French Quarter?

French Quarter. Especially because you’ll be at DS a lot of your time and can take the ferry

wow that’s a savings! I see @OBNurseNH ‘s point but I’ll suggest that the skyliner will take you to all the places along it’s route and the bus isn’t bad to take to DS…. but there are beignets at FQ

French Quarter! I love Pop for the Skyliner, but since you’re not doing the parks, that greatly diminishes the value of the Skyliner. And FQ is much more convenient to Disney Springs. I think the FQ theming is nicer for a solo adult, too.

Another vote for FQ for a resort only stay- especially since you have DS plans. I LOVE Pop but FQ is so much more relaxing. It really does feel like an upgrade from Pop. Although $400 isn’t a small amount of money! So I can feel your struggle. In the end, I think FQ is still the best choice.

If I’m doing resort only stays, I always opt for the nicer hotel room.

Thank you!!! As it is Thanksgiving week & I’m sure the parks will be extremely crowded, I wanted to just spend a few days relaxing before my DCL cruise. POFQ is my FAVORITE moderate resort. I’ve stayed at CBR, POR (when it was Dixie Landings) & CSR as well, but it’s the quaintness of the French Quarter that draws me to it. It’s compact, so no matter what building, it’s a quick walk to the main building, bus stop, etc. and quiet (besides the pool area). It has one bus stop vs 4+ & it’s not so spread out like the others.

I would say, other than the savings, the only other reason to consider Pop would be if you wanted to head to the Epcot resorts and see the Boardwalk area, etc.

But considering your desire to spend time in DS, I agree with the others that POFQ probably makes more sense.
