Sometimes DH will grab the second bed. At home the spare room. But not because of anything bad. We both sleep better when we have the bed to ourselves. Sometimes rest is better than company- even with a King size bed, lol.
Agreed! I didn’t notice any difference in the mattress with the pull down. I didn’t sleep in it but I did test it out with a nap once.
Pop is our go to value. It even wins out on the moderate at times. Although I haven’t stay at CB. SSR isn’t my vibe and DS isn’t a big draw for us. I wouldn’t pay to upgrade to SSR personally unless it was under $200. Then maybe I would try it. EEH have no appeal to me as I can never stay up that late!
Have you checked out Swolfin prices?
If I can get a room discount on Pop, I will almost always book there. When there isn’t one it causes me to look at other resorts. Most recently my short May trip will be at Dolphin because no discount room found (yet) at Pop and the Dolphin is the same price. This is my Muppets farewell trip so the boat ride to HS is what made Dolphin the winner.
One thing I’ll pitch in favor of the Skyliner is that the lines in the morning move really fast and aren’t too bad, all things considered. Not much different than a bus travel time.
It’s the park close return trip where you can wait like an hour+.
Oh yes, that’s true. I always try to position myself in the back of the park near the exit for the fireworks at Epcot and hightail it but yes we’ve probably waited 15 minutes even doing that and it’s stressful having to walk fast on tired feet and I’ve done it in heels which was really fun (I changed in the bathroom pre-dinner for Takumi-Tei; I did NOT wear heels all day!!!)
And we didn’t take the Skyliner back from DHS because we did Jollywood and it wasn’t operating. We did have to wait a chunk of time and it was a walk to our bus there. That wasn’t my best bus experience.
Yes - a few times now. I really love it. But I always sleep better Deluxe, including SSR. Maybe it’s something besides the bed itself, or it could be like a placebo effect or something.
I can see that. The deluxe rooms are definitely roomier which I think contributes to sleeping better. Pop can feel a little cramped. Feng shui matters!
I did look at Swolphin when I first started planning but was still looking for a less expensive option. I need to check again now that I’m further down the rabbit hole. Thanks for the reminder.
I booked the Dolphin in May for around $270 a night (Thursday - Sunday) with taxes and fees. Definitely worth a look. And if your dates are flexible by a day or 2, use the flexible calendar. You would be surprised what a day can do with Marriott, lol.
People LOVE Pop and I admit it’s very convenient and a good value. But I can’t get over the theming. It’s my least favorite of all WDW resorts in theming. Its almost the opposite of SSR, which is very serene and quiet.
